I am pleased to report that Flagman will return to the Reilly Center for the final regular season game, March 9 against St. Louis. It is expected that the team and school will recognize him before the game. Please, everybody who can, turn out and show your support. I know he and his wife, who is currently handling flag duties, will greatly appreciate it.
CORRECTION: There will be a recognition of Flagman at some point during the game, not necessarily before the opening tip.

I spoke with Rex wife. She confirmed RES post “Flagman will return to the Reilly Center for the final regular season game, March 9 against St. Louis. It is expected that the team and school will recognize Rex at the game.”
She shared with me Rex waving the international players flags started with Patricio Prato and Peter Van Passen at the start of 1999 season. International players would visit and have dinner with Rex and his wife. Rex had mentioned to me of keeping in touch with many of the players.
She said “Rex would really appreciate fans of the Bonnies coming up and saying hi.” She sits at the south end of Bob Lanier’s Court, sitting on the left side about 2 rows up. Easy to find as she has Assa and Melian’s national flags by her side, which she waves after they score a basket.
With Rex condition he hasn't attended a game this year. He will be attending the March 9 game. Rex wife will be sharing comments made in this thread with him.

Despite yesterday's very disappointing result, I wanted to remind everyone of Flagman's return to the RC on Saturday afternoon. He is greatly looking forward to being there. He will be sitting in the ADA section and hopes very much that people will come over and say hello.
So, put aside your frustrations with the team, come out to the game, and walk over and greet one of Bona's biggest fans.
Thanks.

Had the honor and opportunity to meet and get a picture with REX on one occasion about 12 yrs ago. He is one of the many fine legends of Bona basketball.

Rex, if you're reading this, I wish I could be there. I would have stopped in PA on the way up and picked up some firecrackers and smuggled them in to you for old times sake, haha. Thanks for all you did to enhance the RC gameday experience all those years.
Have fun tomorrow.

Only thing good from last night's game was Rex being recognized. Rex received standing ovation. Schmidt also spoke with him after the game and thanked him for his 25 years of dedicated support.
