Maybe the best way to go is to find those under-the-radar kids who are getting overlooked because of all this portal crap - bring in a bunch of freshman with great potential and tell them that they are to build something significant. Yes, for a year we might struggle but I know there are highly talented kids out there being overlooked. I've been watching AAU for the past 15 years and sometimes exposure just doesn't happen for some really quality players. When/if we get them early they can learn the Bona way and hopefully embrace it. Thoughts?

I’ve been saying/begging for the last week: get back to developing young players and teams. Build for every 2 to 3 years instead of the short-term, short-sighted portal upperclassmen. Mark was quoted as saying you cannot win with young guys which is an ignorant statement. Don’t those young guys get better when they get older?

Once we develop the players and are easy to contribute someone is just going to get in their ear and tell them they can transfer somewhere else to make more NIL money. It’s not worth it.

I heard on ESPN Radio that Kentucky has 5 five star recruits coming in next season. These are not under-the-radar players. Still,it will be very interesting see what Coach Cal does with them.
