Agoo, not exactly what I said. However, to your point, just because a player puts on a Bona uniform it doesn’t make him an icon. I wouldn’t get too attached to players today because it more about being a business than being a student athlete.

I remember posters on here who went to preseason practices who had nice things to say about his game. I didn’t have “nice things to say about his game,” I had really good things to say about Duane’s game. Being from Putnam and being 6’8” is the only similarities to Barry. Differences between them. Barry is a solid rebounder, solid defensive player and handles the ball as well as a guard. During pick up games, Duane’s defense and rebounding didn’t standout. His ball handling is good for a 6’8” player, but it doesn’t compare to Barry’s extremely impressive ball handling skills. Duane’s defense and rebounding might very well be the reason why he was red shirted this season (along with Schmidt having a deep team). Like Barry, Duane arrived at Bona as a skinny 205 pound freshman. Hopefully he adds 10 pounds of muscle like Barry did for his sophomore season. Duane is a good athlete, but lacks Barry’s extreme athleticism. Barry struggled with his jump shot, while Duane’s jump shot is a strength. Duane had one of the better jump shots during pickup games and workouts. Duane also had some very impressive drives to the basket. Duane is a talented offensive player. Like Barry, I wish he would spend more time on his back to the basket game. Overall Duane is a very smooth offensive player with a solid jump shot.
