Sort of what I predicted for awhile. NCAA is just a large (wealthy) not for profit - like United Way or any hospital system in NYS. The teams from the Power 5 do not need the NCAA, and have been running the football championship outside the NCAAs for many years. I am sure they are eyeing the MBB tournament (and now the WBB now that it outdrew the MBB this past year. All these schools will just pull out of the NCAAs. Maybe for BB they add the Big East to their Super League.
The only thing that is sad here is that the three Academies did not make the cut, but it is sort of funny to this anti ND person that ND fans have to be clutching their pearls on the idea that they will no longer be "independent" for football.

interesting in that one division is the old pac 10 and another includes cuse, psu, pitt, bc, etc that was joe paterno's dream in the 70s prior to the formation of the big east...one positive is that if will take care of the excessive travel demands on the " student athletes"

The NCAA just approved a two minute warning at the end of both halves of football games. I can see the need for it to synchronize the stadium clock with the official clock on the field. But I don't know why it takes a whole timeout to do so.

But I don't know why it takes a whole timeout to do so. Why? To sell 2 minutes of commercials at $1 million plus for 30 seconds. I’m surprised it’s taking them this long.

Without the financial incentive for the SEC and Big Ten, a Super Conference is a pipe dream.
The article's purpose is to mollify Syracuse fans who fear their lousy football program will be excluded from any future conference shake-ups (spurred by Clemson and Florida State threatening to exit the ACC).
