Interestingly enough, the most recent Bona Alumni magazine has an article stating the university is embracing DEI, as per Dr. Gingerich. I support the university in their endeavors. It is a changing world out there and we can’t live in the past with our heads buried in the sand. There was a period of time when SBU did not adapt quick enough to the challenges in higher ed which led to low enrollment and putting the school in poor financial shape.
Additionally, the former Holy Name Province and the newly formed Our Lady of Guadalupe Franciscan Province ministers to the marginalized to include immigrants - legal and illegal. This is part of the Franciscan charism, and by extension St. Bonaventure University. The province has sent several Friars to minister.
Finally, the university, like many other colleges and universities depend on international students to boost enrollment numbers. In the highly competitive higher ed race attracting students to your college is what matters. SBU has attracted students from basically all over the world. Some of these students help to field our sports programs.

So, you spend 4 (+) years investing in your education only to find out because someone checks a couple boxes that they're more qualified. I thought we were trying to erase racism? Democrats name it DEI and it's acceptable. DEI is a joke.

DEI is a concept that received a power boost after the unfortunate demise of the violent felon George "Hijack" Floyd. Basically its a means of justifying blatant discrimination against Catholics/Christians and a redistribution of wealth along socialist/communist lines........if you believe in the Catechism of the Roman Catholic Church, then you are a DEI enemy........have a better understanding now? |

Removing the south bleachers in the RC is just another mind blowing screwup from our now disgraced former AD Joe "Brown Indian" Manhertz (and how come his immediate supervisors allowed this in first place is puzzling to say the least)...........taking 500 seats out of the RC seating capacity is just plain wrong on every single level........good riddance...........

Many of the Friars i know support the concept of DEI = Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. I thought Jesus said we should love all. I may have missed the part where Jesus said we should exclude certain groups of people. Why can’t we all get along?
