Could the Huskies be headed to the Big 12 in 2025 in all sports but football (not till 2031)? If so, who gets added to the Big East? Got to figure A-10 schools could be in the mix. Dayton or Saint Louis? Bonnies (we need to play play games in Buffalo or build bigger) but likely no. Wichita State or Gonzaga? Any thoughts? Hope everyone is having great summer. NFL and the Bonnies are around the corner.
Here's the note: The Big 12 and Connecticut are in “serious negotiations” about the Huskies joining in all sports except Football in 2026, with Football to join in 2031, per Yahoo’s Ross Dellenger, who adds the two sides met in-person last week and Commissioner Brett Yormark will make a presentation to league presidents next week. Dellenger: “As part of any agreement with the conference, the school would need to increase its investment in the football program to a certain degree before joining the Big 12, at earliest, when the league’s new television deal begins in 2031.” Further, the conference is “in deep negotiations” with Allstate on a naming rights sponsorship and in discussion with multiple private equity partners “offering them a percentage stake in the conference for an immediate cash infusion of as much as $50 million to each school.” (link)

If they wanted Dayton or SLU they would have taken them already.

Dayton will end up in the big east if this happens.

St. Louis and Loyola would also go to the Big East and reduce the A-10 to rubble.

Were that to happen with those three defections, the A10 would become just another one-trick pony like the MAAC.

St. Louis and Loyola would also go to the Big East and reduce the A-10 to rubble. why would the big east want LOYOLA a presence in CHICAGO ?? they have that now with a mediocre DEPAUL.

Big East is shit without UConn. I mean does Creighton really fire you up. Georgetown would but they have sucked for 20 years

Did you forget VILLANOVA - MARQUETTE ... 9 out current 11 schools are Catholic plus UCONN & Butler (founded by members of the Christian Church). Why not us ? Location - Location - Location was the killer in 79, does that still carry the same weight in today's world (or even more so ?) ...
I'm with you on "Creighton Manning" - they don't move the needle for me either. Georgetown - St. Johns - Seton Hall - Providence still all do, but yes - I'm old.
