Staff would not meet his financial and other demands the first time and they would be even higher the second.

Fjs, yes, thank you. Is Barry the new Brent Rumple? Are we going to be debating his value and abilities years after he’s left the school and is playing elsewhere for teams that aren’t on our schedule? BTW, I have moved on to the point that if I misspelled his name, I just don’t care any more. He left, so I think the phrase Once a Bonnie, Always a Bonnie doesn’t apply to him, or Barry, or Assa, or any of the others. Graduates, yes. Even those who took a fifth year elsewhere. Just my opinion.

Even the Congers are shaking their heads at this one.

I don't plan on talking about Barry often but I will say that him having success doesn't surprise me. 28 points and shooting threes like he is does surprise me a bit but him being a super productive player does not. I always believed that he should have been the one getting those extended minutes, ahead of Assa (or together with Assa) but that's an opinion from the stands and not in practice every day. I have to assume Coach had his reasons, but as a fan it was always frustrating that he wouldn't get extended time on the court. When he played things happened.
Best wishes to Barry and while I wish he stayed, I really like the team we have right now and the dynamics of our squad!

I'll just say I liked Barry when he was here and I do wish him well. But if he's not greeted with loud jeers on sunday I'll start worrying about what the heck is going on at the RC!!!

Especially when it’s absolving those who went back on their word in the same breath. That’s MY opinion.

Disagree with “if he's not greeted with loud jeers on Sunday. I'll start worrying about what the heck is going on at the RC.” I think this would give Bona a negative image to jeer a player, just because he left Bona. With Barry being a former Bonnie, I would think we would want him to succeed.
Something else impressive about Barry is being the 2nd leading scorer among 2 highly recruited players out of high school. — Earl Timberlake 6’6” was a 5 star recruit by Rivals and overall No. 24 nationally. Was also No. 32 nationally according to both 247Sports and ESPN. As a freshman at Miami he played just 7 games (shoulder and ankle injuries), but started 3 games and averaged 9.3 ppg. Currently averaging 13.0 ppg for Bryant. — Rafael Pinzon 6’6” averaged 16.3 ppg for Puerto Rico in 2021 FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup. Was 4th ranked player from New York State by 247. As a sophomore at St. John was a top reserve averaging 6.1 ppg with 2 starts. Currently Bryant’s leading scorer at 19.5 ppg.
Then add Keyshawn Mitchell 6’11” a McDonald's All-American Game nominee in 2022. Bryant has a tall starting lineup of 6’11” 6’8” 6’7” 6’6” and 6’6” it will be an interesting match up for the Bonnies.
Do not get the game against Mansfield as they add nothing. A boring blowout is alright for an exhibition game, but a regular season game. How about Mercyhurst (1st year in D1)? They are currently 2-2 and they defeated Canisius by 10. Bona even have a connection with their leading scorer Jeff Planutis, who is the younger brother of Bobby Planutis.

Chuck it is supposed to be hard for visitors to play at the RC. Once upon a time we were rated among the top most difficult places to play and it's something we are all proud of. To keep up with that, you don't cheer a guy who left your school a day after the season ended last year. if he graduated I would feel differently... but he didnt and should receive a jeers for the 2 hour return to the RC. We can root for him to succeed any other day

We can root for him to succeed any other day Polite pregame applause for someone who played hard, represented the university well, "kept his nose clean socially" as Schmidt says, and has likely maintained relationships with many in the student body, shouldn't be a referendum on how intense the crowd is. The insinuation that Bonaventure isn't as difficult a place to play as it once was is contradicted by the facts: Dayton is the only A-10 team with a better home conference win percentage over the last decade than St. Bonaventure's .756
