Ernie D and Marvin Tire Iron Barnes played at the RC in the 1971-72 season, I believe in January...........I drove through a blizzard to get to the game, (ran off the road into a ditch on Rt 16, got towed out by a farmer for $5), after a weekend of chasing some D'Youville College bunnies........
It was a great game, the RC was packed to the rafters and roaring big time................

Bonnies play Utah State next. Once the Bonnies played them when Tom Stith was leading scorer in the country. They had a big kid named Billy McGill Hill who was second in scoring. I think Bonnies won. According to SBUNFURLED, BONA played Utah State for 3rd place in the 1960 NIT, BONA lost 99-83 and it was SAM STITH's final game. Utah State beat the Bonnies in an NIT consolation game in ‘59-‘60. The Bonnies beat Utah, the team that Billy “The Hill” McGill played for, the next year. And actually, in the ‘59-‘60 season Utah, with McGill, beat the famed Ohio State team of Lucas, Havlicek etc. |
