14 Bona steals resulting in many of UNI's 17 miscues. That's attack D at its best.
62-48, under 4.

Bowen is awesome. What an adjustment by Schmidt extending that defense and overwhelming them. Love this team.

Nice bounceback triumph. Dasonte Bowen 17 pts (8/8 ft), Melvin 15, Chance 14.
Shot well, outboarded UNI 26-24, 14 steals (Chance 4, Jonah 3).
Did a number defensively on Panther starters; nearly half their pts scored were by reserves.
7-1 with roadie at Bucknell next.

Big development--Wedlow as backup big. Looked good tonight but who knows--but a big plus in that he has an offensive game, where teams can leave Folarin alone, as we saw Thurs night.
May not see Noah again for awhile.
Need Edwards back if they are going to press this much.

Solid bounce-back performance. Nice balance on offense. NIU was hot early … made at least three prayers at the shot clock buzzer in first half to take control. That didn’t last. SBU’s full-court zone changed the game in a hurry.
As a few have commented earlier, it’s a big shift that Schmidt recruited length/athleticism — and he’s surprising many of us by changing his style to fit this roster.
Yeah the Bonnies have issues getting good shots consistently in half-court sets vs the zone … but our scoring averages are not that far off from our better teams of the last decade, thanks to points of turnovers and improved shooting the last 3 games.
Time will tell if these numbers hold up during conference play.
Year. … .… Off... Def. 2024-25 .. 74 … 62 2023-24 .. 74 … 69 .. A10 semis 2020-21 .. 71 … 61 .. NCAA tourney 2017-18 .. 77 … 71 .. NCAA tourney
Well done guys. Rest up and get focused on Bucknell.

Great bounce back win. Xander moved up the depth chart tonight - solid performance. Our backcourt of Melvin and Dasonte is formidable. Lajae came out inspired to start the 2nd half - his SLAM put-back got the team all fired up. Love the 1-2-2 full court pressure - with Chance @ the 1 and Dasonte / Melvin at the 2 line. Best full court pressure I can recall in the last 5-10 years. We were clearly the better team. If a couple 3s fall against Utah State (or a few more fouls called on USU), we would be 8-0.
LOVE THIS TEAM
GO BONAS - Let's keep it rolling ...

Defense. Defense!! The Bonnies’ SOS thus far has been bad, but our defensive numbers are impressive none the less. We’ve held good offensive teams well below their normal outputs.
SBU rankings nationally (out of 360 teams): Pts allowed, 62.9 … #29 FG% defense, 40% … #75 2 Pt FG allowed, 15.0 … #51 FT allowed, 9.3 … #13 FTA allowed, 13.5 … #16 Steals, 8.9 … #56 Blocks, 4.8 … #58 Fouls committed, 13.0 … #4
This is the most aggressive, ball-hawking Bona team since who knows when, yet we’re doing an excellent job of not fouling excessively. Credit to our staff and players. We guarded the three-point line very well the last two games.
The Iron Man Five 2.0 group was a great defensive team but that was strictly solid pack line — strong and physical 1 thru 4, plus a great shot blocker in the paint. This is 180% different.
