Commitments New Staff Now Has Five Scholarships Available for Next Season
April 20, 2005
Head men's basketball coach Fran McCaffery announced today that Tarrance Garrison and Darryl Harris have asked for and been granted releases from their binding National Letter's of Intent to play basketball at Siena next season. Their departures leave the basketball program with five scholarships available for next season.
McCaffery indicated he and his newly formed staff would work quickly in an attempt to fill the scholarships.
"We have spent a great amount of time identifying and contacting student-athletes who fit our profile, and will make an immediate impact," McCaffery said. "The responses have been overwhelmingly positive when we mention Siena College to these recruits. I'm confident in the future of the Siena basketball program."
Harris, a 6-11, 205 pound forward from Cleveland, Ohio attended Cuyahoga Community College, and Garrison, a 6-8, 230 forward from Dallas, Texas, attended Lancaster High School.
"I'm disappointed that Tarrance and Darryl had a change of heart," McCaffery said. "But at this stage, we are focused on bringing in young men who have a passion about Siena College and its basketball program."
