to juco junction? ;D
For weeks now, rumors have circulated that shooting guard Raynard Sawyer has verbally committed to St. Bonaventure. After Sawyer denied those rumors a while back, the speculation has risen up once again. JucoJunction went straight to the source. Get the latest on the Moberly sophomore-to-be and find out if he's made his college decision.

According to scouthoops.com he was given 2-stars as part of the 2004-class....no schools were listed; the following was the information provided:
Richard Sawyner
Ht: 6-4 Position: SG Projected as: SG Class: 2004 Senior High School: Shaw HS (East Cleveland, OH)
The junior college (Moberly Greyhounds) he attends is located in Missouri and is in the same conference as Olney Central....it appears that this is a top tier junior college conference and Moberly has had alot of sucess on the national junior college level......

He is listed in the rivals database as Class of 2006 so if he does verbal he would be the first in that class for Bonaventure.

He is listed in the rivals database as Class of 2006 so if he does verbal he would be the first in that class for Bonaventure. Likely, but not not necessarily. Sawyer could be a late JUCO addition like Gibbs, who was also a sophomore. Of course we already have the maximum number of 13 scholarship players (12 current players plus Rodney Hannah). Has anyone heard of a player leaving? Of course all this depends on the report from JUCO Junction stating Sawyer has chosen the Bonnies. BO2 you are probably correct, Sawyer would be an early commitment for next year. If this is the case I wonder why Solomon is offering a scholarship this early for a JUCO player who averaged only 9.5 points a game. Seems to me we should save these scholarships for top 200 players like Marcus Johnson. Hopefully Sawyer has a big year at Moberly, proving we were lucky to sign him early. By the way Yankuba went to Moberly. JAC I'm looking forward to your preview of Canisius. Link to Sawyer's stats for 2004-2005 season: www.kjccc.org/basketball/0405/stats-M/sew/scombined_1.html

Or do you mean more cowbell? Because I've got a fever, and there is only one prescription.
