Marcus Williams and AJ Price point guards for UCONN were arrested for stealing lap tops from a women's dorm. Initially they denied responsibility but lengthy cell phone records led to their arrest.
It seems there is loop hole in the Ct. law that all of the athletes at UCONN take advantage of when they are arrested. They apply for accelerated rehabilitation and it doesn't go on their record. Williams has applied for this and it appears Price will as well. My guess here is a small suspension as the school has been very lenient in the past. A number of football players were let off the hook earlier this year! Life at criminal u goes on!

I had heard from a source who's a cop in Long Island that the reason AJ Price had the brain issues last year was due to heavy drug use.

accelerated rehab can only be used once in your life, I believe. It's generally saved for a pretty serious crime. ie, not using it when you're arrested for shoplifting.
about A.J.'s drug issue: I have no idea about any of that, but what purpose does throwing out that rumor serve? It's not really fair to the guy since you don't know for sure.

Accelerated rehabilitation is not a “loop-hole” that “athletes take advantage of.” It is a statute that allows every citizen of CT to have crimes that meet certain criteria to be wiped from his/her record after serving two years of probation. Williams should qualify. First, the accused mustn’t have a criminal record. Second, the crimes must not be “serious” (which is defined as anything less than a class C felony). Most people would be granted accelerated rehab in this situation. The crime Williams is charged with is a Class D felony and he has no record that I’m aware of, so he will probably get it. See Connecticut General Statutes 54-56e.

it seems odd that 8 UCONN athletes have ALL qualified for this over the last 6 months. Oh to be an attorney near Storrs!
