I'm growing weary of SBU getting more negative press in national publications. The not studying thing is nothing to be proud of. At least it sounds like things are improving in Hickey Memorial Dining Hall.

Could the negative poll results speak more toward student attitude concerning the guy who runs "Hickey"? My understanding is that he is a bit arrogant, a lot of "my way or the highway" approach to the clientel (anteing-up at about 30 grand a year, total, to attend SBU), as opposed to the age-old "the food sucks here" claim. Just wondering...

I am disappointed in the SBU students. SBU out of the top twenty in overall partying? I can't wait to make my annual pilgramage up to Ellicottville from Florida for Oktoberfest. The alumni need to represent.

Agree with CTBonnie that the negative publicity has had a cumulative and harmful effect. As far as the Princeton Review findings go, I view them with significant skepticism due to the way the questions are asked and the small number of students participating. I would be surprised if a similar survey of a high % of Bona students didn't yield very different results. Finally, those who think that alcohol abuse by college kids somehow represents a badge of honor for the school seriously need to grow up.
