Last time Bonaventure played in Rochester against Syracuse it was very hard to get a ticket for that game. As of right now, there are tons of great seats available courtisde. Hopefully Bona can get at least 8,000 for this game. It should be great to see Relph and Gansey play against eachother.

While West Virginia is a great draw, Syracuse has plenty of alumni living in Rochester. Needless to say, Syracuse is a MAJOR draw in Western New York. St. Bona's IS NOT!!!!!! And until they start winninmg games, they won't be.

Who wants to drive to Rochester in the middle of the week to see us get blown out by 30 points ?!
Until we start winning again, if ever, these "neutral site" games need to be scrapped. Maybe next year we could play a "home" game in, say, Toronto ! Or maybe Cleveland. Hell, let's just move out of the RC all together, the home court advantage is LONG GONE anyway !
If they average more than 2,500 a game this season I'll be amazed.
Plenty of good seats available !!

You my friend, you are sadly mistaken. There may not be the same numbers of people filling the Reilly center as there were in previous years, but the enthusiasm remains the same. If there is a game where we are close, i PROMISE you that the crowd will be as boisterous as it can be. To say the home court advantage is gone only shows your ignorance to the current situation. Bonas fans may be fewer, but it is the true and proud who remain. It is the fans who will cheer no matter what who still attend the games. ripreilly755 you are very misinformed when you say the home court advantage is gone. I hope to see you at a game this year, so me and the rest of the wolfpack can prove my point.

I am a student who will ALWAYS support the bonnies. I did at the Syracuse game and I will a the West Virginia game. We need more fans like me who love St. Bonaventue and the Bonnies and who will be at every game. Do not give up because there have been rough times!

Then why is it that students show up at 6:55 for a 7:00 game ? Used to be that there was a line of students outside the doors (by the swimming pool) before 6:00 (when the doors open).
The bleachers were filled about 5 minutes after the doors were opened, and the student body was loud and boisterous the entire time. Visiting teams had trouble even conducting their pre-game shootaround !
Red Reynolds and the SBU Pep Band were at their best in this pre-game hour, and even better during the game. It was a true, raucous, college basketball atmosphere that brought goose bumps to your arms when you thought "man, what did we do to deserve entertainment like this is little old Olean ? This must be what it is like at Duke and North Carolina and other major college basketball arenas !"
When that atmosphere is created again, then I'll believe our home court advantage is back.
When there is a line outside that door at 5:45 even on a snowy 20 degree night, then I'll believe our home court advantage is back.
When the bleachers are packed with yellow shirts, and I mean PACKED - both endzones, the side, and students standing in the corners - then I'll believe our home court advantage is back.
When the Pep Band is allowed to generate the music instead of some rap cd on the speaker sysyem, then I'll believe our home court advantage is back.
When students start getting on the opposing team at 6:05, instead of sauntering in at their leisure, just lounging around, talking on their cell phones, then I'll believe our home court advantage is back.
It's been a LONG time since we had a real home court advantge like we used to have. That can change, but the apathy of current students has to change too.
A Bona basketball game is an EVENT !!

There may not be the same numbers of people filling the Reilly center as there were in previous years, but the enthusiasm remains the same. How can the enthusiasm be the same if less people attend the games? Seems to me "Bonnies Bandwagon" is truly fitting since quite a few fans only show up when the team is doing good or has a chance to win. Obviously the comment to remove all games from the RC was sarcastic but the home court advantage has greatly diminished since the famed ESPN poll that some people still get wet over.

true fans stick with the team through the tough times. In this day and age it's easy to jump off the bandwagon and pull fo the front runner but I must say Bona has more loyal fans than most schools. Ask the Dukes and Fordham, where our fans generally out number theirs in their building!

Are you kidding? Arriving ONLY an hour before tip-off? During the Seventies and Eighties, most arrived between 5 and 5:30 p.m. for a 7:30 tip. Games were an event, regardless of the opponent or day of the week. Sadly those days are a distant memory. If the school would revive the Jazz Band and allow the students to sit with their floormates in CHOICE seats (along the sidelines), it would again become an intimidating joint. Until then...... Don't forget to visit the Heart.
