Where is MCC? I have never heard of it. If it is a community college then as long as he stays there for the entire year he is eligible in the fall of 2006. I think the Bonnies would still be interested in him. If they could get him as a walk on that would be even better. I know in the past it was down to us and the University of Cincinnati.

He's attending MCC to bolster his grades. Says he'll follow Coach Huggins wherever he goes. Wants to play for him. Word is UNLV, Arizona State or LSU would be Huggy's next stop. Don't forget to the visit the Heart. -- TM

From the Rochester Democrat and Chronicle:
Newly arrived Pettinella exits after Cincinnati dumps coach
Jim Mandelaro Staff writer
(September 21, 2005) — Over the summer, Ryan Pettinella was sure he had found a home with the University of Cincinnati basketball team.
Then the father of that program was kicked out of the house.
When Cincinnati President Nancy Zimpher forced longtime coach Bob Huggins to resign in August, Pettinella decided to leave as well.
"That was the only reason,'' said Pettinella, a former McQuaid star who had transferred from Penn. "If Coach Huggins had stayed, I would have stayed.''
Pettinella, 21, has enrolled at Monroe Community College and is taking four classes. The business major is living with his mother in Pittsford.
He would have sat out this season anyway as a transfer and won't play for MCC. Next spring, he'll be a free agent.
Pettinella says he's a fan of Andy Kennedy, the assistant who has replaced Huggins on an interim basis, but couldn't bank his future on Kennedy.
"I like him a lot, and I'm sure he'll do a good job,'' said the 6-foot-9 forward, who averaged 4.8 points and 3 rebounds for Penn last year. "But he probably won't be there next year, and there's too much uncertainty as to who the new coach will be.''
Pettinella will have two years of eligibility remaining when he returns to basketball next fall. When he left Penn, he considered joining former McQuaid teammate Tyler Relph at St. Bonaventure but ultimately decided on Cincinnati.
Is Bona in the mix now?
"That is a possibility,'' he said. "One of many possibilities.''
