After I finished up with my fantasy football draft tonight, I thought it would be good to go run/workout in the Richter Center. As I was toward the end of my run around 9:30, the basketball team assembled a 5 v. 5 matchup on the norther court.
Play was sloppy to begin with each side throwing up unwarrented shots, but as play progressed, each side settled down.
One player that caught my eye right away was Matt Morgan. He may not be that big, but he is athletic. Him and Tyler Benson ran a high/low nicely with the two-handed finish by Morgan.
Malcolm Eleby caught my eye as well. He was guarding Tyler Relph and did a decent job. On one transition play, he shoveled a pass to Michael Lee for the Alley-oop.
Relph also barked out some plays as he wanted to get into a set offense a few times down the court.
It's just nice to see a team get together for some pickup ball and team bonding this early in the season. I don't think we would have seen this under Solomon last year.

Every time I have been to the Richter this year I have seen at least 2-3 team members playing basketball. They seem to be taking it very serious this year!

Nice report. For the record the team played pick up together while Solomon was coach. And for the record, teams have played pick up together under every and any coach in the history of basketball.
