3 of the 7 players who have had their number retired are confirmed for Legends Night - Tom Stith, Sam Stith and Fred Crawford.
Anyone know the status/whereabouts of the other 4 ??
Bill Butler - #14 - Class of 1968
Whitey Martin - # 34 - Class of 1961
Ken Murray - #13 - Class of 1951
Bob Lanier - #31 - Class of 1970

According to the Bonnies website, Ken Murray will be there as well.

The Legends Day/Night/Weekend has been updated on the gobonnies.com site and it looks impressive.
Along with this being the start of preseason practice there should be some electricity in the air at SBU.
Isn't this a great opportunity to bring some of our higher profile recruits for a visit?
Anyone have any news/rumors/gossip, even facts?

good point. This would be a good time to bring in recruits. I hope Walker is one of them.

It seems pretty clear that Bob Lanier will not be attending "Legends Night". I graduated from SBU in 2001, so I don't know much about Lanier other than his great basketball career. So i have a couple questions for people who were around when Lanier was in school. Has he been back to SBU since he left? Did something happen that makes him feel alienated? He seems like a nice, generous person who has taken an active role in helping out others (based on his commercials). If there is anyone who would be a great icon for the values that Bonaventure is supposed to represent, you would think it would be Bob Lanier. But he doesn't seem interested at all in be associated with Bonas. I was curious if anyone has any explanations?

Bob Lanier came back for the 75th aniversary game (1995?). They had a legends game that night also, but he did not participate. He did sign many autographs though.

Bob gave back to the university by being chairman of a very successful SBU annual fund raising campaign a while back. I can't remember the year. I have never heard anything to indicate that he was anything other than a proud alumni. I also remember him being quoted as saying he would love to be coach at SBU during the search that brought coach Solomon here. Not sure, but I think he was also on campus not too long ago when he was promoting the books he authored.

What is the scoop with Midnight Mayhem? Did the Legends Night replace it or is the Midnight Mayhem going to take place afterwards? Is there going to be a dunk competition, scrimmage, and 3 point contest like in years past? Would love to hear some updates here in Philadelphia on the players. I think the Legends Night is a great idea but I want to hear some insight on our new additions.

As I understand it, Legends Night has replaced Midnight Mayhem....The Legends will attend a private team practice on Sat. morning, have a team dinner in the afternoon and then head to the RC for the evening's festivities.
Rumor has it that Tim Winn will square off against Tyler Relph in a 3 point contest.
