Can anybody tell me why as an alumni in Rochester, I haven't heard a thing about the WVU game in Rochester? For all the previous ones, I got a letter well in advance of the the tickets going on sale to the public to buy tickets. This year nothing. In fact, if it wasn't for this board, I wouldn't even know tickets were for sale. Usually they have a cocktail party before the game and I get invited to that.

Are you sure you are not living in a cave?
At the end of August, there were postcards sent to all Rochester-area alums promoting the coach's luncheon on 9/22 at Hawthournes in Pittsford.
In the beginning of September, pre-sale order forms for the WVU game were sent to all Rochester-area alums.
On 9/22, was the coach's luncheon. It was covered by both Channel 10 and 13.
An ad for the game has already run in the D&C. When the game was officially announced, it was picked up by all local TV stations, as well as the D&C.
Before you go bashing the marketing campaign for the game, check with the alumni office to make sure they have the correct address. The game has been promoted very well in Rochester.

Yes, I'm sure I am NOT living in a cave. I pay very close attention to my mail from the Rochester Bona Alumni Assoc. While I got one promoting the coach's lunchion on Sept 22, I was unable to attend. Therefore they do have the correct address. Personal busniess prevents me from doing other things on Tuesday and Thursdays. And I did not see anything on TV as I watch channel 8 at 11 PM for news anyways. I DID NOT RECIEVE a per-sale form for the WVU game. That I know. I do read the D&C but DID NOT see any ad. SO BEFORE YOU GO BASHING ME, all you had to kindly say was the alumin office did send out notices. Not jump all over my case.

I did not receive anything in the maill regarding the game either but i took matters into my own hands and go tickets. If you pay close enough attention you dont need the mail notification but it would have been nice to have better seats than the ones i purchased a few weeks ago. I stilll get plenty of mail from sbu so i dont know why i did not get any ticket notification. In the end anybody who wants to go to the game will be able to get a ticket. go bonas.

I jumped all over your case (if you can say a reference to living in a cave is jumping all over someone's case---a little sensitive I guess) because you quickly bashed the marketing campaign that is going on for this game. It's definately out there, I just think you seem to miss it somehow.

The living in the cave comment was not necessary!
Sometimes the sarcasm on this board can come across anywhere from funny to mean...yours came across as rude!

My original comment was a simple question. Now I see that I was not the only one not to recieve info from the alumni or marketing where in past years we had. Yeah I felt jumped on. Its tough to "read" sarcasm.

The guy 'living in the cave' is a CUSTOMER.....I doubt very much SBU teaches its marketing students that when you get a customer who did not get the message to accuse that person of living in a cave......one would hope the marketing dept would appreciate such feedback from a customer and try to improve even more their marketing campaign
