240.20 Disorderly conduct.
A person is guilty of disorderly conduct when, with intent to cause public inconvenience, annoyance or alarm, or recklessly creating a risk thereof: 1. He engages in fighting or in violent, tumultuous or threatening behavior; or 2. He makes unreasonable noise; or 3. In a public place, he uses abusive or obscene language, or makes an obscene gesture; or 4. Without lawful authority, he disturbs any lawful assembly or meeting of persons; or 5. He obstructs vehicular or pedestrian traffic; or 6. He congregates with other persons in a public place and refuses to comply with a lawful order of the police to disperse; or 7. He creates a hazardous or physically offensive condition by any act which serves no legitimate purpose. Disorderly conduct is a violation.
Sounds like my career at Bonas in a nutshell (especially 2, 3, and 7 . . . definitely 7)! Lucky for me the cops weren't usually around to cite me for the VIOLATION (not misdemeanor as stated in the Olean Times article, although I quickly looked up the statute, maybe I missed something) My point is, this is a very broad statute, and it doesn't take much to be cited for violating it. Any one of those seven acts could result in being cited. I'm sure many of the name callers on this board have engaged in at least some of the conduct at some point in their lives. I know some of them who have, but I won't mention any names.

On a stand alone basis this is obviously a minor incident, but best if it didn't happen. When you take the events of the past few years into account, this is what has everyone one concerned.
Another thing to consider is how many of the "name callers" were on a scholarship?

None of the name callers were talented enough to get a scholarship, so it's not a fair question.
