URI's Robinson suspended indefinitely Kingston, RI (Sports Network) - Guard Dawan Robinson has been suspended indefinitely from non-academic and non-medical team activities by the University of Rhode Island athletic department.
The suspension, which reportedly stems from a fight and subsequent arrest outside of a bar near the campus, has a minimum term of 60 days and will be lifted on November 24 at the earliest.
"Robinson has agreed to accept the consequences of his actions as they relate to Department and team expectations of University of Rhode Island student- athletes," read a statement released from the university.
The 6-foot-2 Philadelphia native was one of the top weapons for the Rams over his first couple of seasons and was a preseason first-team All-Atlantic 10 choice heading into the 2004-05 campaign. He suffered a stress fracture of his foot in October, however, and missed the team's first eight games. The senior returned on December 27 against Iona, but lasted just one minute before re- injuring the foot and sitting out the remainder of the season. He red-shirted and was allowed to return for the -05-06 season.
Robinson made the Las Vegas All-Tournament team in his junior season after scoring 26 points versus Lubbock Christian and 16 points versus Louisiana- Monroe, and guided the Rams into the NIT Tournament.
The current suspension went into effect on September 24, according to the university

Depends. The two schools might - in fact, probably do - have different disciplinary policies.
