This forum is becoming a joke. The gossip, rumor, and innuendo is slanderous. Impulsive posts regarding potentially damaging accusations have no place on this board. If a poster knows something for a fact and wants to post it, so be it. However, some of the garbage that has been posted is deplorable.
As for Chuck Pollack. He can write whatever drivel he wants. The part that bothers me is the fact that Slo is trying his best to shape young men. The man does not drink or swear. He is intensely family oriented and has a deep faith. He has an incredible work ethic. He walks the talk with his players and is a constant role model. He is making a conscious effort to have the players participate in community service. Yet some people minimize his efforts. This just in..... He can't possibly control every choice the players make. He can not be omnipresent.
I certainly am discouraged with some of the choices the players have made. Can you imagine how Slo feels about it? Williams and Relph have been given consequences. Some are not public knowledge.
As for Smith, let's see how the FACTS play out before casting dispersions and calling the kid a "thug". I can tell you this fact, Ahmad has made a very positive impression on my son at Bona hoop camp the past several years. He has gone out of his way to be friendly and encouraging.
One final comment, the players versus student nonsense is a two way street. There are many situations where hoopsters are baited by jealous coeds who can't dunk the rock and have to pay tuition etc.. I saw it as a student. I still hear about it today. I'm sure the players are part of the problem as well.
Bona athletes are held to a much higher standard and remain under the microscope. However, one FACT remains the same. They are human and prone to mistakes just like the rest of us.
