The second St. Bona Shootout - a women's basketball tournament hosted by St. Bonaventure University and featuring U. of Albany, Niagara University and Cornell University will be held Nov. 19 and 20 at the First Arena in Elmira, N.Y.

This link will take you to the website for the tournament.
Currently alumni and friends have already donated more than 1,000 tickets which will be given to area high school, middle school and elementary school students in the second tier to expose them to high-quality Division 1 Women's Basketball. In only its second year, the tournament has turned into one of the premier women's athletic events in the northeast. Players, school administrators and SBU alumni in the southern tier will be treated to an invitation only banquet at the Corning Museum of Glass on Nov. 18, private tours of the Museum and a tournament day crowd expected to top 2,000 each day. The organizers intent is to not only raise money on behalf of SBU athletics, particularly women's basketball, but use the tournament as an example of a premier basketball event leading to St. Bonaventure and the First Arena serving as hosts for either the A10 Women's Basketball Championship Tournament or a preliminary round for the NCAA women's tournament.
We hope everyone will understand that a successful tournament will not only help publicize our university but bring in revenue for all SBU athletics - including men's basketball!
We invite you to come to Elmira and witness a first class event and support SBU athletics. If you would like to receive an invitation to our Friday evening banquet, simply send me an e-mail: dancollins1951@excite.com
