Did he fall off a bar stool, or did his girlfriend kick him ?
Terron Diggs is much better anyway, we'll be a lot better with him at the point.

Are you kidding? What next?
This team is so snake bit!
I am beginning to wonder if we will ever see this guy play in the Brown and White!
Damn, I just purchased my Rochester tickets and was looking forward to seeing him play!

Before we go jumping off the deep end, the season doesnt start for 4-5 weeks so its not like he will be missing alot of action. It may slow him down though once he gets to playing again. Diggs seems to be good enough to handle the load short term.

Damn! One thing about Bonaventure this year is that should be good depth at most every position but the team will miss Relph's 3 point capabilities. Diggs sounds like the type of point guard that i've always liked - good defensively, quick, and a good distributor of the ball. Just not sure how much offense we are going to get out of the 5 position though. Was hoping that the other 4 positions would give us point production. Not sure that Diggs will give us that. I had a foot stress fracture years ago. One injury i never want to have again as it took forever to heal.

Relph was going to be out the first week of the season anyway due to his suspension. I wonder if Relph's supension will start after he returns from the injury, or if the time he spends on IR will count towards his suspension. Hope it is the latter.
Reading that the surgery will be taking place in Coudersport reminded me of how lucky Coudersport is to have such a great little hospital. It is a great facility, and has some great doctors, Dr. Gionnatti being first on the list.

OLEAN, N.Y. (AP) — St. Bonaventure starting point guard Tyler Relph is out indefinitely after having surgery Tuesday to remove bone spurs in his left ankle.
Tests also revealed that Relph has a stress fracture in his left foot.
The injuries further delay Relph’s debut with the Bonnies since he sat out all last season under NCAA transfer rules. The Rochester-area native and former New York State high school basketball player of the year transferred to St. Bonaventure in June 2004 following his freshman year at West Virginia.
Relph initially hurt his foot last summer, and complained the pain had not subsided once the team opened practice earlier this month.
The Bonnies, coming off a 2-26 season, were counting on Relph to provide an immediate impact this season.
“Believe me, we want Tyler Relph back as quick as we can, but right now we’re dealing with that situation and, as always, we’re going to continue to push on,” Bonnies coach Anthony Solomon told The Associated Press. “It’s a young man that’s been injured and we’ve waited a long time to see him play. And I feel for him. But what I want Tyler Relph to do is to put all his competitive spirits and funnel them into rehab right now.”
Isiah Carson, who started 18 games as a freshman last season, and junior transfer Terron Diggs are expected to compete for the starting job.
Solomon could not provide a timetable for Relph’s return.
As a result of the injury, Solomon has lifted a one-game suspension against Relph. The player was to miss the Bonnies season-opener against Robert Morris on Nov. 18, the result of being charged with drunk driving in April.
In August, Relph was found guilty of the lesser charge of driving while ability impaired and had his driver’s license revoked for a year.
In lifting Relph’s suspension, Solomon said: “He’s done a great job in accepting the responsibilities for his earlier actions in all that we’ve asked him to do.”
Solomon refused to describe Relph’s injury as a setback to a program that’s still rebuilding after a player eligibility scandal in March 2003 led to NCAA sanctions the following year.
“This is another bump in the road, but we’ll get through it,” said Solomon, who took the team over in May 2003. “With that injury comes opportunity for some other young people. And we’re going to get him back as quickly as we possibly can.”

Hurt his foot last summer, huh ? Guess it was when he ran out the back door of that bar when cops came in the front door to ID everyone.
Remember that incident ? At the time, people in the bar joked that if he fell down running out of a bar, how athletic could he be on the basketball court !
The odds of him never suiting up in the brown & white (like many pundits have predicted) are looking better every day.

ripreilly775. your attacks on Relph seem way out of line, while he is a player on a team we follow and root for, he is still a college kid and not some pro. It is a bit disconcerting to read these personal attacks on a kid, where no one knows how much of what you put out there is true. Everybody always seems to know someone who knows someone who knows something. Most of the time it is all hearsay and rumor. Why not stick to the basketball observations and leave the personal stuff out

What is the source of the 6-8 week prediction for his return? If accurate it would cause Tyler to miss between 7-9 games not counting the exhibition game. I would say he has a high threshold for pain since he has been practicing with bone spurs & a stress fracture. I anticipate that Terron will adequately handle the point, distributing the ball and breaking the press. His scoring capability however will be minimal. This is a significant loss at a critical time for the team looking to establish their identity. Here’s to a quick & complete recovery for Tyler

Hey Rip,
I hope you're man enough to eat your words when Peaches takes the court. Until then, keep taking your pot shots via message board if it makes your day better.

Tyler has been here for over a year and now we discover the bone spurs and he has surgery 3 weeks before our first game against Bloomsburg. What terrible luck! Does this end any hope for a double digit win season? Two ways to look at it. Can take the optimistic look and hope for Tyler's return for the start of A-10 play. After all this is the difficult part of the Bonnie schedule and the time we really need Tyler in the lineup. Or you could take the negative outlook and wonder how many game the Bonnies can win without Tyler. Even with our easy out of conference schedule, it could be a challenge to win a majority of these eleven games without Tyler. IMHO we need at least 6 wins during out of conference play for the Bonnies to have at least 10 wins. I was hoping for 10 to 12 wins, now without Tyler it becomes a lot more challenging.

Let's hope they put him in a full body cast! This may keep him out of trouble until he's well.

Although I have no plans to jump off anything...Eight weeks would roughly equal 1/2 the season. Albeit, the non conference schedule, but then it will take him some time to get his wheels back, plus the suspension.
Maybe I am being a bit impatient with this, but with this team for me anyways, there is this sense of what else is looming!

Possible medical red-shirt? If he's going to miss half the season, why waste a year of eligibility on this season?
