For a coach who has caught a lot of heat on this board (in fairness any coach with 2 wins will expect that) Sol really came though on this spring signing period. Since he has been here Sol has brought in quality recruits only to lose them last minute. It was a matter of time before the dam was gonna break and we are seeing that now. Consider Sol is bringing in a spring class like this while having to fight off the scandal of the past and a recent 2 win season ! Imagine what he can bring in when we get the team back to the 15 win mark and keep moving further and futher away from the JVBK/Wick disaster !! Congrats to the coach...college hoops is wayyyyyyyy more about recruiting than it is X's & O's...(thats John Wooden's quote).....good days ahead !

Your comment "Sol has brought in quality recruits only to lose them last minute" is so true. Look at Paul Williams and Tyler Relph, are you certain both will be playing this season. Tyler is a great basketball player, but he has many issues and I wonder how many games he will play. Even Lex has concerns, he failed to qualify at Rhode Island. With a school president who stresses academics over basketball (unlike her predecessor) I'm not certain Lex willl qualify, especially after the Jamil fiasco. I agree he sounds like a player the Bonnies need.
Ivan and Diggs fill a need, but considering their credentials (both average only 6 points a game) I wonder if they are prized A-10 caliber recruits. Hopefully they are everything you and everyone else are making them out to be, but we need to at least see them play on the court to be certain. I agree with you about Hawkins, he appears to be a great signing for Solomon. I'm not trying to be negative, only cautious, because I remember the excitement of Boggans and Burch signing.

I don't consider Tyler or paul Williams in that group since they did both sign...I'm referring to recent david Jackson, Jamal Cornerly, Cedric Jackson, James Tchana, the big kid who signed with St John's etc etc etc... Your comments do appear to be "raining on a parade" since an unbiased publication Hoopscoop (not me) had our class ranked at a decent level BEFORE the Lex James announcement... If you think we are 'over hyping' these spring signings...can u recall a better SPRING signing period by an sbu coach And all accomplished in the shadow of a 2 win season ? 6'11 240lb center (starter) Kovalecic 6'9 240lb PF (starter) Lex James 6'5 SF (likley starter) AJ Hawkins 6'0 PG (likely starter) Terron Diggs

Or put it this way.... do you really think that the lineup of Saul and Camara were better than the James/Ivan lineup of Williams/Fox.... I think lost in the shuffle here is AJ hawkins. I got a feeling this guy will be a stud. He chose Bonas over Providence.

This recruiting class might become special (like Baron's class of Caswell and Tim) if Lex qualifies. Lex appears to be the big athletic post player the Bonnies are always looking for, but remember his basketball experience is limited (never played high school ball). Basketball experience can't be discounted, because I remember all the hoopla with Jamil's signing. Jamil was big and athletic, but turned out to be a below average D-1 basketball player. Remember being a juco he has only 2 years for development, which Caswell and PVP needed before they became solid big men in their junior and senior years. I hope Lex qualifies and becomes a star, but we can't assume both will occur.
I believe Hawkins will turn out to be the best recruit out of this class. He appears to be anther great signing like Michael Lee was last year, but we need to remember his best basketball is in the future. Like Michael he might need his freshman year for developing and become a star like Ahmad during his upperclassman years.
