This ranking is BEFORE the announcement of lex James..who is a Big east caliber PF at 6'9 240lbs and considered crafty around the basket... Its always helpful to get an unbiased view..
From Hoopscoop: The addition of AJ Hawkins, who ranked #48 on our list of the Top 5th Year Players and is a big time athlete with the ability to handle and finish with the best of them, and Kovacevic, who, at 6'10, 240 lbs., is just a good old-fashioned banger/rebounder/physical specimen inside, moves St. Bonaventure's recruiting class into a tie at #115, along with Penn State, St. Joseph's, and Florida Internationally, on our list of the Top Recruiting Classes To-Date for the Class of 2005. But that only tells half of the story. The rest of the story involves the fact that the Bonnies have 6'0 Soph Tyler Relph, who transferred a year ago from West Virginia, and 6'10 Paul Willams, who transferred a year ago from Siena, both waiting in the wings. This not only means that St. Bonaventure head coach Anthony Solomon will be able to go to war in the Atlantic-10 Conference next year with Relph, Hawkins, and 6'5 Jr Ahmad Smith, who was an all-conference performer this past season, in the backcourt, but they will also have the ability to line up 6'11, 6'10, and 6'10 across the front line when 6'11 David Fox from Mercyhurst North East (JC) PA, who signed with Bonnies last fall, Kovacevic, and Williams are in the game together at the same time.

That is scary if those guys can go across the frontline together. Imagine that 3 6'10 guys on the frontcourt. Has that ever happened at Bonaventur? Add the athletic Lex James who sounds like a bigger version of Cas Cyrus and I don't see guys like Dunston from Fordham putting up anymore 20/20 games.

There are very few college coaches that match the intense hard work that characterizes Anthony’s recruiting efforts. Recruiting to Bona is never a cake-walk & then add the handicap of the scandal (used against you by everyone), restricted student-athlete visits, only 2 coaches could travel at a time, and a 2 win season. Being ranked (before factoring in Lex) the same as St. Joes’s & Penn State is an incredible accomplishment & a great example of overachieving. Lex’s addition will move Bona further up that ranking chart. Anthony & his hard working staff are to be heartly congratulated for their exhaustingly diligent work which produced a fine recruitment class which addresses all our weaknesses. One should be careful on disagreeing with John Wooden on any basketball matter. Wooden’s quote on college recruiting could not be more accurate. Words on caution by Chuck are particularly true on Lex’s academics but I am optimistic he is eligible & that Bona will provide the academic support needed. Just a fantastic recruiting job by Sol & staff. This truly is a solid step, maybe two, in Marching Forward.

I am CAUTIOUSLY optimistic with an eye towards our recruits next year.
Recent events lead me to believe that some of the horses in the stable maybe in the glue factory come November ie Boggins, Burch etc.
I don't like the trend that these athletes have become prima donas, a situation we as Bona Backers have always abhorred at other institutions.
AS has his hands full. Coaching today ain't just about X's & O's and recruiting. It's about babysitting and minding the chicken coop.
Time to call in Super Nanny!!!!TEXT

The worse part of the glue factory trend is it involves the Bonnies most heralded recruits. On a positive note, Michael Lee and AJ Hawkins represent big steps toward marchng forward. Lets just hope they have productive careers and most important graduate from Bonas. Hopefully the glue factory is filled, because we've sent more than our share.
