Starting next weekend for five consecutive weekends I am going to go to the RC and see D1 basketball. Instead of reading the musings and half truths of people like Chuck,Friar and other crusty Oleanders, I get to see games and players.
I am sure we will read from Chuck how after the first scrimmage how Solomon is a disapointment. How Friar in his infinite basketball wisdom feels that he can't understand the substitution pattern. We will also read how Jim O'Brien was a failure despite going to the Final Four with OSU and having great success at BC. Fro Munga will make some inane statements about JVBK and get the responses that will keep him going.
The great thhing is who cares we will have games to watch and players to cheer on and a good man to support as coach. We won't have to listen to the poison that is spewed on this board. Go Bonnies!!

Wow, I did not realize my posts were so offensive to you and Dem. I enjoy sharing what I see at the games, but if so many posters are bothered by it I won't bother. One correction, I've never posted a half truth on this board.

Thank you Chuck. Your absence will be appreciated. I will correct it from half truth to half baked.

I am excited, too. I wish I could be at the RC for the next five weekends. I'll have to settle for my one, annual death defying trip (Duquesne this year). I think what makes it difficult to feel excitement growing is the absense of any reports on team practices or even the midnight madness scrimmage of past years. Does Solomon keep things that locked up that no one has been able to see these guys?

Dem, you wrote a diatribe yesterday about the glory days of the original bandwagon yet almost all of your posts are a direct response to anything I post. How can you make a call for quality posts when all you do is contribute to the negativity on this board? By now everyone knows you don't like me, but to continue to act like a little kid shows your real character.

Because the original Bandwagon didn't have a painful hangnail like you around.
You are incorrect that I don't like you..I don't know you.
I don't care for the negativism you stand for...the venom that you spew about a great Bona player, coach and friend Jim Baron and I care even more that whether you care to admit it or not your defense of the indefensible that tore my school asunder and ripped a life from our community.
It ain't about you...it's your attitude and ideology.
That cat that JAC posted is me on a mission..to show the board and smack you when you misbehave.
It's a tuff job but somebody's got to do it!!!

I promise this will be last of my responses in this thread. I know you want the last word, so I'll agree right now to let you have it. The first forum like this that I participated in was "Planet Bonaventure" and I believe that was hosted on AOL (if I'm wrong please forgive me, but I wanted to prove my point that I just didn't show up within the past 3 or 4 years).
I like how you claim SBU is your own... what makes you think I'm not an alum?
What have I said about the beloved Jimmy Midnight that is incorrect? Do you want me to list the number of schools he was REPORTED to interview with (note: you'd be amazed at the even larger list of schools he put feelers out for but never interviewed, for any number of reasons).
Go check your facts but I've said all along that Midnight maximized his coaching potential at SBU. He was never going to take the program to the next level. He filled the schedule with a bunch of creampuffs and was content with getting to the NIT. His NCAA team was deserving to be there but he clearly didn't capitalize on that season for SBU. In the end it was a personal decision, and money over-ruled the school that he loved (If I'm wrong, I'd love to hear a different explanation).
As for his successor, despite his success and willingness to upgrade the program, others had it out for him. He groomed the most heralded player since Lanier. The former coach sought out to maximize his star player's potential, which allowed him to develop his game to help him get to the next level. That would have never had happened in the walk the ball regime of the glorious coach. Yet, all of you were proud to have another Bonnie in the NBA.
Speaking of the former coach, I'm still waiting for the evidence that everyone claims to have against him. I've read the NCAA report numerous times and didn't see anything in there to support the claims of the locals. So Dem, if you have a problem with my ideology, then I guess you have a problem with justice. Why is that some wanted to give the recent players who made the headlines the benefit of the doubt until their day in court, but failed to give the same courtesy to the former coach? One would believe it was because the former coach didn't feel the need to pump up the egos of the locals. How did not hanging with the local gurus make him a bad coach? As for the scandal, read the report, it clearly states who was guilty. Unfortunately a good man was in the wrong place at the wrong time. If you can prove otherwise, please come forth. Until then, you and your little group of friends can continue to take pot shots at me. In case you haven't noticed, it hasn't stopped me from posting and it won't. Go look at my previous posts and compare them to yours. Although you claim all of my posts are centered around one theme, you will see that isn't the case. Most of your posts are childish attacks in response to something I wrote. If you (or anyone else) feel that strongly, please feel free to email me, I've posted my email several times before. Rather than make it a personal issue in this forum, you can email me your thoughts. That way nobody else has to waste their time reading it. Hopefully once the season starts, I and the rest of the board, won't have to put up with the childishness that you continue to bring.

Thank you.

Fro I agree with some of what you have to say but defending JVBK is futile. At very least he did a bad job as a coach because he did not know that Jamil was ineligible. Getting paid as much as he was and being a professional as he was He should've discovered that Jamil would not be eligible and then never have signed him. He failed at his job to do so and was subsequently fired. With that said JVBK was an excellent basketball coach, he was not the nicest person but if we were winning 16+ games a season and contending I could care less about his personality.

Don't try to school me in justice you pompous pomme fritte.*
Planet Bonaventure was a WWW board and not the AOL board.
Look at your post you claim you're not one dimensional and yet there you are with the Jimmy Midnite dung and defending the indefensible one.
"Yeah Senator..he had a lot of buffers." Cheech in Godfather II.

Half a score and a few years ago our fathers brought forth on this internet, a new forum, conceived in Liberty, and dedicated to the proposition that all posters are created equal. Now we are engaged in a great civil war, testing whether that forum, or any forum so conceived and so dedicated, can long endure. We are met on a great battle-field of that war. We have come to dedicate a portion of that forum, as a final resting place for those who here gave their reputations that that forum might live. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this. But, in a larger sense, we can not dedicate -- we can not consecrate -- we can not hallow -- this forum. The brave men, living and talking trash, who struggled here, have consecrated it, far above our poor power to add or detract. The internet world will little note, nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what they said here. It is for us the current posters, rather, to be dedicated here to the unfinished work which they who posted here have thus far so nobly advanced. It is rather for us to be here dedicated to the great task remaining before us -- that from these honored posters we take increased devotion to that cause for which they gave the last full measure of opinion -- that we here highly resolve that these posters shall not have spoken in vain -- that this forum, under God, shall have a new birth of freedom -- and that a forum of the people, by the people, for the people, shall not perish from the internet.
