Here is some information from Scout and Rivals on Bonaventure.... Its nice to see we are going after recruits with the big boys.
One of the lesser known prospects in the state of Michigan is Chase Simon. Simon is a 6-foot-5 wing player, who ran with the high powered Michigan Mustangs AAU program this summer. Simon's athletic director, Kevin Dargin, recently spoke with Musketeerscoop.com about Simon's recruitment.

"Chase is receiving interest from a lot of schools. Coaches from Michigan State, Xavier, and Dayton have been down to visit. Oregon is also sending a lot of letters. St. Bonaventure, Xavier, and Dayton have already offered," Dargin said.
Other schools that have been showing some interest in Simon are: Marquette, Miami (FL), Michigan, Stanford, Syracuse, and Wisconsin.
The amazing thing about Simon is the fact that he has not played a lot of organized basketball. "Last year was his first year of playing high school ball. He had to sit out at first, and he has only played half a semester of high school basketball," Dargin said about the inexperience of Simon on the floor.
When asked to describe the strengths and weaknesses of Simon's game, Dargin said, "He is a point forward, he plays point guard for the high school team, but he can score. His floor awareness, ability to create, and ability to get everyone involved are his strengths. There is not too much he needs to work on, but his (mental) toughness is one thing. He is inexperienced though, so that will come in time."
At the moment, Simon is imply enjoying the recruiting process, and is taking everything in stride. According to Dargin, Simon's mother would like him to make a decision before his senior year.
Academically, Simon is making great strides in the classroom. "He had some issues his freshman year, but he is starting to get it together. He is very smart. He can do the work, he just got caught up in being a ninth grader," Dargin said.
With the natural ability that he possesses, expect Simon's stock to soar in the next year. Stay tuned with Musketeerscoop.com for the latest on Simon, and the rest of Xavier's 2007 basketball targets.
Tyrell Lynch knows it's his time to shine at Niagara Falls (N.Y.) High School. With a summer that ended in tragedy for the program and with Paul Harris, the team's top player, leaving for prep school, the responsibility is resting on his shoulders. The 6-foot-9, 220-pound forward from the class of 2007 is ready for what awaits him.

Tyrell Lynch will spend a year at a prep school next year.
Lynch didn't have the summer most teenagers expect to have. In July, he watched his friend and AAU/high school teammate Miguel Repress collapse and die in Los Angeles. As expected, dealing with the tragedy hit him and the entire Niagara Falls community hard. Rebounding from Repress's death hasn't been an easy task but he knows it's something he and his teammates had to do. Lynch feels like they did.
"We are coming together pretty good. We spent the summer down at the YMCA working out and I think that is where our chemistry came together," Lynch said.
Chemistry is something that Niagara Falls needs to help ease the loss of Repress and Harris, who is spending this season at Notre Dame Prep in Fitchburg, Mass. That is why Lynch and fellow 2007 prospect and Syracuse commit Johnny Flynn are looking to lead the team this season.
"Coach told me that he needs me to be a team leader and going out there and grabbing rebounds. Coach told me to work on my scoring more because me and Johnny need to pick up the slack for the team," Lynch said. "I feel like I'm pretty good around the basket but I need to get better down there. I'm working on it."
A handful of high-major schools are showing interest, he says. Charlotte (offer) and Syracuse are in the picture and "my coach is telling me that Illinois has been calling about me," Lynch said. Providence, St. Bonaventure (offer), Siena (offer) and Canisius (offer) are also in the picture. However, the Orange naturally stand out the most to him right now.
"I've always wanted to go to Syracuse. It's been a dream of mine," Lynch said. "It's kind of crazy seeing the dream possibly coming a reality. Now that Paul and Johnny are going there it's pretty cool. I know I just need to keep focusing on my grades."
Lynch was originally in the class of 2006 but for all intents and purposes, he's reclassified to the 2007 class. He'll likely spend a year at South Kent, Notre Dame Prep or Laurinburg before playing in college.
"Right now, I'm just focusing in the classroom," Lynch said.
