I believe the truck is more for Bonaventure's broadcasting program, not just for our sports programs.

Kepler is correct. Game Creek Video donated the truck specifically to Bona's J-School. The donation was made through a line of connections, that included a CBS Sports producer, who happens to be the father of a senior here at Bonas.
The 53' truck is standard definition, which isn't outdated, but high-level companies are now switching to all high-definition trucks.
In addition to doing sports broadcasts, the truck would allow the university to broadcast graduation and other critically important events.
As of right now, I'm not sure of any plans that would allow Bonas to broadcast "live," but I can't be certain of what might happen in the future. If we were to do anything this year, it would most likely be "live-to-tape" then replaid on a local channel.

And anybody can correct me if I'm wrong, but I think the Times Herald doesn't post stories on the web until the day after they run in the paper.

It's just that the OTH updates irregularly. Many times a story will be posted on the web the same day, but the OTH often doesn't update until the very late afternoon or evening. On weekends, updating is haphazard at best. Sometimes there are no updates from Friday until Monday morning.

THis also can't hurt to get the word out about the school either. I live in Buffalo and it is very frustrating to watch the news have highlights of crappy Canisius games and only a score for a Bonnies game. If we could get some actual video to send to news stations, maybe people would remember we exist and are the only school in western ny that plays in a top conference.

If we were to do anything this year, it would most likely be "live-to-tape" then replaid on a local channel. Ever hear of YouTube? Don't throw your stuff on some local channel that no one watches. Get a YouTube channel with a worldwide audience of alumni and other interested people. C'mon. It's 2009. As a J school grad, I'm woefully disappointed at how little it seems J students are doing online work on YouTube or other new media sites. The BV could be bastion for new media work, but it seems to be a simple copy+paste into a template like I'm typing this message into. You're going to need these new media skills in this journalism climate -- go for it!
