It was announced today that UMass has scheduled a game at the "Big House" at the University of Michigan next season. This is to go along with UMass playing at Kansas State this season. You can bet that, if UMass defeats Kansas State or Michigan or both, there will be a gigantic push for UMass football to go to FBS. Of course that move needs a new stadium. There has been talk in the past of using the UConn model to go to FBS. There is now talk on sports shows about raising revenue by increasing present tolls and installing new tolls on Massachusetts highways. Good luck to UMass.

I hate to burst the balloon, but there is little if any interest in UMass football, let alone spending money for a stadium. They are struggling to keep the basic University infrastructure and faculty intact. Out here, UMass could beat Michigan in the Rose Bowl and no one would notice or care. It is a pro sports town.
