Big Chris: 34 minutes 1-5 from the field and 2 big rebounds WASTE PRODUCT! and Eleby aka SHARPSHOOTER...1-4 from the line...when we needed him to hit 2 after the intentional he hit 1! and Marc had a brain cramp when he brought in Roseboro and Simmons after tying the game up and we quickly fell into a 7 point hole, thanks to their bad play/turnovers....and we were never able to get out of it

If only Andrew had played more minutes in the first half could have gone for +30

How does Matthews look in practice? Does not show up when the lights go on. He is a very good foul shooter get to the rim Chris. How about trying an 18 footer?

Hold on here. Eleby did have the key steal towards the end, that led to the fragrant foul, his free throws, and the Nicholson's free throws to put the Bonnies in the lead.

I am not an Eleby fan, but he looked a lot better tonight at times than he has in the past two years. Thank God that we inked Chandler for next year. Matthews wasn't a major factor at all, and Hall looked like he was struggling with the flu or something.

don't forget Hall! jesus christ, for every good play he made, he made a bad one. the 2 on 1 he led was DESPICABLE! either dish it off to Eleby, or go up strong, instead he fumbled the ball in mid-air and failed miserably. i was livid. he's a walking turnover and can't shoot to save his life. i completely lost it when Matthews chucked up the one 3 on a fast break. the Bonnies just got a huge stop, and Mr. Matthews proceeds to pull up and fire a brick. i guess because he just made one, he thought he was "feeling it". and i don't think i've ever uttered these words, but Eleby had a good game minus the free throws. he played within himself, played good d, and had some nice drives to the hoop. it still infuriates me that he can't make free throws, how can you be a POINT GUARD, and not be able to make free throws. i knew he wasn't going to make both. if this team had a real deal certified point guard... i liked Ogo until he had two boneheaded turnovers on consecutive trips down court. right now, Roseboro is goon status. the team should never play in Rochester again... the crowd was lifeless until the final minute or so when they woke up. if this game is at the RC, Bonnies win by 10. 3 pt shooting was clearly the deciding factor. 1 for us, 8 for them. o well, enough with the bad... ANDREW NICHOLSON CAN NOT BE STOPPED. Cook gets two thumbs up for his performance! Davenport is quickly becoming my favorite player. he's electric off the bench. Dear Coach Schmidt, Can Lewis Leonard please get some minutes (in favor of Matthews)? Andrew and the gang showed great fight, and this was a DEVASTATING defeat.

Bonaballa1, with all due respect, this game should not be played in the RC. That is because it cannot be played in the RC. We all need to realize where we are right now. In 5 years, if we are reestablished, then yes, play the game in the RC. Mississippi St. was the exception, not the norm. We need to play in venues such as Rochester and Buffalo in order to draw Big East opponents.
Our three point shooting has got to get better. Straight up awful. I did not mind the Matthews transition 3, that is the best time to take the 3 as the defense is not set. He has to start hitting shots though. Inexcusable his field goal percentage after two games.

This defeat is also not devastating. We will get better real quick with Binghamton.

My biggest disappointment was the defense - way too many easy baskets in the paint!!! How did they let a 5 foot guy go the length of the floor, I mean on a straight line, and get to the hole in the final seconds. This team is much improved but they are more than a few steps from being a good team. I applaud the improvement though but won"t expect much. Nice touch recognizing former players from the Rochester area.

This lapse in defense occurred much too often and had to have Coach Schmidt FUMING....All in all, however, we were right in it to the end and I saw some glimmer of hope from players like D'Quan with that beautiful put back jam that got us going in the first half and Roseboro. who was rough around the edges but still was moving more fluidly on defense than I thought a freshman might. I also hope that Leonard gets out of Schmidt's doghouse one of these games soon and shows us what he can do to hit some shots downtown. Someone besides Matthews (if he can get his act together soon) will have to step up and be more of a marksman from the outside.

If he did those things he would be playing right now because he certainly is talented enough.

Schmidt is real stubborn with that, so who knows when Leonard will start getting some minutes. all i know is, Matthews isn't doing ****** offensively, and we desperately need another scorer... and i think Leonard can be that guy.

Matthews is not the problem. He only put up five shots. That's nothing for a shooter. Coach lost that game. Down at the wire, he had Malcolm pick up a quick 5'5 guard the full lenght of the court with 10 sec. What a terrible defense to be in.

I agree on not pressuring full court in that situation. Schmidt's refusal to leave the press in the second cost us 8-10 points, as St. John's broke it at will.
I find it pretty hard to believe Louis Leonard has been here two years and doesn't know the plays yet. There's more to his story, but I'm not sure I buy that as the explanation.
I don't want to kick Eleby while he's down, but he's just so bad. There's nowhere to put him. He's as fundamentally flawed as any guard we've had in years, and he's the furthest thing from a point guard.
Ogo wasn't a hell of a lot better, but at least he makes his free throws. However, when free throw shooting is a deciding factor in which point guard gets minutes, it's a sign neither are very good.
