After three games I thought it would be a good time to assess where the team stands heading into the BTI Tournament in Normal. The Good and Bad at the BonaBlog... Happy Thanksgiving Bonnies Fans! thebonablog.wordpress.com/

Great article Ian. Here is my good and bad for the first 3 games. The Good Andrew - Actually he has been great. Against St. Johns' he was simply the best player on the floor. Andrew leads the team in scoring avg. (17.3), rebounds (22) and blocks (10). Jonathan - has been very good being a close 2nd to Andrew in scoring (14.7) and rebounding (15). He is tied with Michael as the leader in field goal percentage. Jonathan makes things happen when he is on the court, unfortunately this includes the bad also as he leads the team in turnovers. With Jonathan we have to accept the good with the bad, because we do not want him to change his aggressive play. Michael - has been very good being the 3rd leading scorer at 11.7 points a game. Michael has the best stroke on the team leading the team in field goal %, 3 point field goal % and free throw % (for any player attempting more than 2 foul shots). Starting to believe our designated shooter should be Michael. Malcolm - his shooting has been really bad, but his play making has been very good. He has done a good job against the press an area he struggled with last year. Last year Malcolm was a passive distributor, but this year he has been an aggressive play maker. Ogo - has been struggling with his shot from the field. Made the same number of field goals as Malcolm with just one less shot. Like Malcolm has been doing a good job with taking the ball to the basket. Has been solid from the line. A little disappointed with his defense. Da'Quan - has been a shocker. He is scoring in the paint and leads the team in points from the line (tied with Andrew and Ogo with 8 points from the line). He actually looks like an A-10 power forward. So far he is clearly the best power forward on the team. The Bad Perimeter shooting - other than Michael the perimeter shooting has been poor. Chris has been much more selective with his shooting (last year he attempted the most shots on the team) but when you are shooting only 31.6% from the field, maybe you should not be considered the designated shooter. Turnovers - team has as many turnovers as assists. Actually this is an improvement over last year as team had more turnovers than assists. Still team needs to reduce the number of turnovers. Start of season I thought the Bonnies would be fortunate to match last year wins, especially considering the more challenging out of conference schedule. Now I think this team could challenge for a post season tournament bid. www.gobonnies.com/sports/m-baskbl/2009-10/files/teamcume.htm
