Average attendance in 2009 for over 4,800 games was 5,185 according to the NCAA.
Granted the fees to use these arenas is a killer. However with the committment to play Division 1 ball and the difficulties in recruiting to our home venue, I'm not sure what the alternatives are.

Although not as successful as hoped the Rochester game was a financial success and allowed Bona to make contacts with companies and people in areas that are needed. Unlike the HSBC which does charge a large upfront guarantee the Blue Cross charges a reasonable % of ticket sales (which is why most Bona games have been played in Rochester vs Buffalo) and allows a game like St. John's to be successful. If you look at the take on this game (based on published ticket prices) vs the take at an on campus game you can see how it could be successful. Rochester estimate based on ticket prices Lead Game sponsor 10000 Other Sponsorships 10000 courside seats $50 x 200 10000 next best 2500 seats $25 62500 next 1500 seats avg. $15 22500 program ads 5000 Total $120,000 At Bona - based on average recent attendence 1000 bona students 0 3500 others average $15 52,500
