St. John's over the Owls at Temple, 55-48....Can we be that close to the upper echelon of the A10??

It's funny because as good as the conference's record is this year, all the teams have looked incredibly inconsistent. There really isn't a team that scares me this season.

We have played very well against very bad teams, something we never could do before but that said the following A-10 teams "scare me" Dayton Duquesne Rhode Island Richmond Xavier Temple My guess is we would be dogs in all of those games right now.

Eh, I might give you Dayton and Richmond off this list, and posthumously Xavier despite a bit of a "rebuilding" phase, but Duquesne and especially Rhode Island aren't as scary as they might seem. Sure Richmond has taken down some BCS big names, but they've also bummed it against some inferior opponents very much along the lines of SEMO and Norfolk.
Tonight's performance against Illinois State will go along way in gauging my confidence in this team going forward, but as I said, no one really scares me. Sure I'm counting losses against quite a few teams in-conference, but we certainly won't be dogs.

Rhode Island is rebuilding this year. They are not a team for us to be scared of. Add Lasalle to that list though. They are an upper-echelon A-10 team this year. Richmond just took down Missouri last night to. Saying that, we can beat any of those teams.

Duquesne has a solid team and could be one of the better teams in the leagues. Consider the following: 1. They already have a BCS win defeating Iowa. 2. In a recent poll from A-10 board, Damian Saunders tied Andrew for 2nd place as A-10's best player. Among A-10 stats, Saunders is currently 4th in scoring and 1st in rebounding. He is a four star recruit, who originally signed with Marquette, but did not have the grades and went to prep school. 3. Duquesne has 3 of the top 14 leading scorers in the A-10. Bill Clark is 2nd at 19.2 ppg, Saunders 4th with 17.2 ppg and BJ Monterio is 14th at 14.2 ppg. 4. Duquesne gets a lot better with the return of Melquan Bolding who broke his wrist during first game of the season (a game he scored 25 points). Bolding is expected back in time for conference games. Boding has scored 23, 24, and 25 in three of his last 5 games. Like Saunders, Bolding was a 4 star recruit and verbally committed to Louisville, but had to prep, because of grades. Duquesne has a lot of talent and should be one of the better teams in the A-10. Feel a kinship with Duquesne, after many wanted to kick the Bonnies and Duquesne out of the A-10. Very gratifying to see both proving they belong in the A-10. www.atlantic10.com/sports/m-baskbl/stats/2009-2010/confldrs.htmlsports.espn.go.com/ncb/player/gamelog?playerId=41790&year=2009

But instead I will ask can I hold you to it that we will be favorites against every A-10 team we play?

Oh please, what a pathetic statement 08, you know those are two different things so don't even bother. It's one thing to not be scared of teams in our conference while its an entirely different thing to be favored in all these games.
I don't doubt you can argue the teams you say, but you're blindly ignoring that these ideas are worlds apart. Scared= definite loss, most likely by double digits. Favoring= I think we have a great shot to win.
How dare I express optimism that the once chasm between us and the top is now narrower. I'm sticking to my "not scared" mentality, but I'm not putting the A-10 championship trophy in the case just yet.

I was more referring to your comment "Sure I'm counting losses against quite a few teams in-conference, but we certainly won't be dogs."
