It may have taken 40 years but I do believe we have the second coming of Bob Lanier. Andrew Nicholson will end up being the best big man at Bonas since Bob Lanier.
Yes, those are big shoes to fill (no pun intended) and it is early in the season but Andrew has been impressive. I don't want to get too confident but any fan of the Bonnies can tell Andres has shown improvement since last year. Yes, the competition he has faced hasn't been top notch but you can tell he is finding his groove.
While Andrew has been accomplishing alot on the basketball court he does an outstanding job in the classroom. This is the type of student we can attract to SBU. Andrew will help us get through the frosty months in the Enchanted Mountains. Just think we have another 2 1/2 half years of watching a future great player at Bonas.
Congrats to Mark Schmidt and staff for doing an impressive recruiting job. Who said it is impossible to bring quality players at SBU?

Today's Olean Times Herald JP Butler made the following comment "it's early, but a question for Bona fans: is it reasonable to think Nicholson could finish with scoring averages of 12.5, 17, 20 and 22 each season? If so, he would eclipse Greg Sanders as St. Bonaventure's all-time leading scorer."
Agree with JP, it is too early, but those are reasonable expectations. Disagree with the comment about Andrew not facing anyone this year. St. John's (currently 2nd highest RPI) had a few quality big bodies guarding Andrew and against them he was clearly the best player on the floor.
