JUST ONE MISTAKE, HE GOT CAUGHT.
A lose of focus from Olean Times Horrible reporter, chuck pollock. Great game but, as always he reports about the worst. Then writes up some gushy story on a Syracuse player and how great their team is. His last run on sentence just goes to show you he has no idea what goes on in the heat of the battle and I quote " an egregious error in judgement " .

It was one player exchanged for another. The Bonnies lost Andrew but Rautins was a non-factor in the game after he got racked. Pollock should have provided a deeper analysis.

I recorded the game on my Time-Warner DVR and have reviewed the play at least seven or eight times.
AS I SEE IT - looks like there was a lot of banging around before that play by SU's two goons on Andrew. Then, Rautins starts popping off after the 3's. On the play itself, Andrew is starting to chug down the top of the baseline and it looks as if Rautins starts to slides over to block Andrews momentum and they crashed into each other with Andrews hand on the up swing and it JUST HAPPENED to make contact a little low. Rautins also complained about an elbow that Andrew throw earlier and he " let it go ". Looked as if Andrew was just clearing out the traffic around him.
After signing Andrew I remember someone posting on You-Tube him in a H.S. game running somebody over and feeling pretty good about it.
Last is the hatchet job by chuck ( the judge, jury and executioner ) pollack of the Olean Times Herald. By not waiting to find out ALL of the facts and just what DID happen on the play in question he pronounced Andrew guilty as charged. NEVER once in the article does he quote Andrew on his side of the story or his version of what happened.
" an egregious error in judgement " was made by the OTH and pollack for not waiting and getting their facts straight first.

While I didn't care for Chuck's story either, Andy never ended up talking to the media after the game. As we've seen from the Tiger Woods scandal, its always important to get out in front of a story or issue before everyone begins to speculate and draw their own conclusions. If Andy doesn't at least give a statement, the imagination of a slow news day can crucify him. I just want this to go away and a win over the Purple Nurples would do wonders.

Somehow I don't think that even the press, as lousy as it is, would confuse Andrew's bumping into Rautin's nut* (on purpose or not) as crucify-worthiness as Tiger's indiscretions.

To compare Andrew's ejection to the Tiger Woods scandle is like comparing two dogs from different fire departments.

I watched the game a couple of times. I saw Rautins reaching and Andrew running bye him. I don't know how the officials, from all of the replays, could determine that Andrew kneed him intentionally. I do know that Boeheim must have told his troops to get him out of his comfort zone!

To compare Andrew's ejection to the Tiger Woods scandle is like comparing two dogs from different fire departments. I was simply saying that sometimes it isn't wise to avoid the media, because then you let them write the story for you. If you read any more into my comparison then you're wasting your own time.

I would guess AN will address it some day, sometime, and we will then know his side of the story. Outside of us fans its really a non issue.
THE END

You guys must be kidding. If Syracuse really felt that there was a punch thrown with purpose, Boheim would be talking up a storm, particularly if he lost. They got Andrew ejected and the little scheme worked. With him out of the game the 12 point lead was safe. He was unstoppable down low and Boheim knew it. What did he miss, one shot. Here you have it. Illinois State fouls Andrew out in short order to eliminate the threat and Syracuse trying to do the same had to resort to Plan B. Ask Bob Lanier about some of the shenanigans he had to put up with because teams knew he was a difference maker. I think Andrew is getting the same respect. Once conference play begins it should be a bit more objective as far as the officiating. I would love to hear Andrew's version but it is probably just as well if we all move on.

sony...Higgins was the ref who explained the call to Schmidt. Mark just listened to Timmy & did not argue or question the ejection.
