Tonight's "Championship" game was an absolute bust. Per Gary Nease "we had no legs". We got out hustled in every phase of the game, threw the ball away, couldn't hit a fg or a ft (again...although we were over 33%...but under 40%). Our defense was suspect. Lottin shows zero senior leadership and Sol and his coaching staff appeared to have had not a clue. It's ok to get skunked from time to time but not against Texas/San Antonio.......one tiny teeny bright spot: we closed with the last 8 points to get the margin of defeat under 20. Disappointing.....but tomorrow's another day!

I hear that if we put the leather ball through the metal rim we get "points". And whoever gets the most "points" wins the game. Maybe our squad should contain players who have a knack for tossing the ball through the rim. I am of the opinion that this would help our university's designated team in their future matches.

After taking an early 18-10 lead & starting off well in the 2nd half scoring the first 6 points it’s hard to comprehend how badly we were beaten. Our board play has greatly improved this season but not tonight getting out-boarded an amazing 51/36. That combined with shooting 37% & treys at 24% along with 38% from the stripe is a nightmare outing. I hope their bodies recover from the physical pounding Tues night & the hectic pace in tonight’s loss.

I think the "no legs" comment pretty much sums up the problems shooting the ball and getting out rebounded. It was the 2nd straight night of action with a short bench having only 9 players dressed with Relph not really in game shape yet so they really only had 8 guys. The sooner people accept the fact that this will be an up and down year the better off everyone will be. Just enjoy the fact that the team is better than last year and enjoy the ride a little. Attacking the players and the coaches is ridiculous

Well said....½-full! watching the development is fun but also frustrating at times.
Who is not happy at 6-5 right now? probably the most disappointment is how we lost....but consider:
PWilliams - after a year off, he is getting better & more productive but with his minutes increasing it has been said he is wearing down. who spells him?
MLee - still only 200lbs & a soph, but getting better. who spells him?
AJ Hawkins - a frosh but productive, which one of our former recruits is playing as well or contributing as much as he? maybe Conely at Penn St or Lutz at Purdue...
TRelph - too early to tell, after a year off & the injury there should be optimism about his role & production.
ASmith - just too much to ask for him to carry the team every game.
It is definetely not a disaster but a work in progress with a big upside! Lets enjoy the journey and encourage the growth of this team!

"Hey tool - 76-55 is under 20 eh?"
sbu83 - I originally thought that you might be a 1983 SBU graduate, but after reading several of your recent posts, I am more inclined to think you are a 12 year old with a calculator. Why all the anger and negativity? Did one of Solomon's kids beat you up on the playground?

I would not be surprised to find out that sbu83 and ripreilly are one and the same poster. Both sound like immature children with an axe to grind.
Perhaps they should pay their own way to Florida and get some sun and a little relaxation. Life it pretty good!

I dont think that this is as bad of a loss as people think. We were coming off an overtime game with Benson, Carson, and Ivan out, Hawkins banged up, and relph in his third game in 18 month. We were not at 100 percent and UTSA has really played well in the past month. We got UTSA when they were hitting their stride.

I couldn't agree more. If you recall, we had that type of system in place but the locals ran that coach out of town. The great JVBK teams put up a ton of points, which led to some of the biggest victories in recent memory for this program. How I miss the good ol' days.

The great JVBK teams put up a ton of points, which led to some of the biggest victories in recent memory for this program. How I miss the good ol' days. Only problem with VBK's offense is his defense gave up as many points, which in VBK's last season led to a losing season. I've corrected you on this numerous times and please do not attempt your false argument that it was Jamil's scandal that ruined his season, because I'll just provide proof that VBK's team spent most of the season with a losing record. The good old days was with Baron, who led the Bonnies to 3 tournaments in 4 years and remember it was Baron's players who led VBK to his only tournament as a Bonnie coach. Before you start with the "Midnight Jimmy" it was more of a case the president wanting a high profile coach than Baron and his family wanting to leave his alma mater. Where is JAC's picture of "beating a dead horse" because we could use it right now.

Hold tight Chuck...it's coming like a Frazier left hook. This is where you pull the string and the Munga mannequin says...
"JR Bremer was held back by Baron..it was JVBK that allowed him to flourish and become an NBA player."
Fro...you couldn't be more wrong about margin of victory....JVBK lost almost every game his sophomore year at Bonas because of the forfeits. He sludged the University, the tradition and the spirit of the school. You claim you like the school and support the team but have a welder's mask on when it comes to this.
Wickenheiser got what he paid for a sleazy coach who hired his son so Daddy could live vicariously through him and they all cheated, they all got caught and they were all summarily dismissed.
Justice has been served. Your dude's named is forever tainted as cheater and no amount of monetary settlement can ever hide the public humiliation of what he did and how he sank so low that his players 'No Showed" for the last two games. They wouldn't play for a loser and a cheat!!!
It's like the cigar in a Bug Bunny cartoon...it blew up right in their face!!! Thank you Mr. Flying Dutchman
