St. Bonaventure, the horse, won the ninth race at Monmouth Park today paying $27.60. Hopefully a few members of this board made some money.

I was lucky enough to be at Monmouth today and, of course, laid the money on St. Bonaventure. I had it in a $2 Exacta, which paid $166 !!!

I am very glad you had a big win on Bona Venture Stables' Saint Bonaventure Sunday at Monmouth Park. He ran an awesome race and we will move him up into an allowance race in a few weeks.
Bona Venture Stables has six horses at Monmouth Park this summer: Saint Bonaventure, Spirit of Life - who picked up a second also on Sunday, Rockit Man, Sage's Dream, Florida Quaker and a yet-to-be named 2 year-old colt by Snow Ridge.
At Belmont Park, we have: Undeniable Queen - who will run on June 18, Lucky Straight and two new, 2 year-olds yet to run: Straight Blush and Chestnut Glitter.
Go Bonas!

Mick, is St Bonaventure still running better in longer races?

Absolutely! Distance is his strength. He is a long legged big horse and the sprints do not work for him. My ideal race is to find a 1 1/14 mile or 1 1/2 mile race on the dirt this summer at Saratoga for him!. We shall see. In the meantime, our next stop will be a quality allowance race at Monmouth. Keep in mind that he missed half his 3 year-old racing career with a knee injury so he's just rounding into form. He is starting to look like a real race horse now!
I actually missed the race and I had to watch it on a replay as I am traveling in Asia on business for the next several weeks.

I heard his mother was a mudda, in fact I heard his father was a mudda! Loves the "slop"! Eats it up!

Bona Venture Stables, what's the story behind this? Alumni owned?
I'm always looking for a few good ponies to wager on.

Yes, Alumni-owned. It is an LLC and we offer shares in each horse at various prices. While all the partners are not Bonnies, the majority of them are. If anyone would like to be added to Bona Venture Stables email list to receive the monthly newsletter that provides details on each horse, future racing schedule and investment opportunities, send me an email and I will add you to the list. dancollins1951@excite.com. We will have an active web site up and running by the fall. Again, send your email to dancollins1951@excite.com to be added to the email newsletter list.

Dan,
We need more Bonaventure themed horses...Skeller, Hickey, Plassman, Club17, Merton's Heart, DeSoto.
Is there a way to keep us informed so that we can plunk a wager at a local OTB or Mohegan Sun?
Best of Luck

Sure. As I sit in Taiwan, first stage of a two-week Asian busines tour, next stop China and then Korea, with a few too many beers at dinner, I'll do my best to post on this web site when a Bona Venture horse will be running in the future and what when I condier it a good bet. Of course, just because I consider it a good bet doesn't mean it is! We also plan to have a Bona Venture Stables investors and friends "party" - Bona style - at Monmouth Park and Saratoga Race Track this summer. I will post the dates when we select them and perhaps some of the bandwagon faithful can join us and lift a few!

By the way, I like some of your horse name suggestions. We have two new yearlings that are yet to be named, so you've given me some great ideas. Hmmm... I cant see Merton's Heart running down the stretch at Saratoga! Maybe "A night at the Desoto" as another. Oh, the memories!

Yea Definitly post the dates if a Bona Venture stables horse runs at Saratoga! That would be fantastic to go to.
