This is very interesting, I'm probably reading too much into it, but I think there is more here than meets the eye !
The Coach Anthony Solomon show is in its final weeks and at this point anyone could win the two tickets to the Atlantic 10 Conference Championship in Cincinnati. All fans have to do is answer the trivia question correctly and they're entered to win the two tickets to the A-10 Championship.
This week brings an added twist to the show. Associate Head Coach Jayson Gee will fill in for Coach Solomon, who is out of town recruiting. Women’s basketball coach Jim Crowley will also appear on tonight’s show to bring fans up to speed on the progress of his program.
The show is scheduled for tonight at 7:30 p.m. at the Village Green in Olean. The atmosphere of the Green along with the food and drink specials makes this event a must for any Bona fan.
In addition to the trivia contest there are also free door prizes throughout the night.
GO BONA'S!
It's all over town that no one other than a few Bona personnel have been showing up at the radio shows recently. In fact, last week the bartender and owner took home all the prizes because there were no fans in attendance.
Plus Solomon used to show up early for the show, and stay late, glad-handing with the fans, etc - but lately he shows up 2 minutes before the broadcast and leaves 2 minutes after. Maybe that's why no fans show up anymore.
And to top it off, Solomon and Zwirline(?sp - the athletic director) were seen in a heated argument outside the bar right after the radio show last week.
Has Solomon quit on the radio show ? Did the AD tell him don't bother to show up if you're going to just go through the motions for half an hour ?
Now this week they just happen to have 'substitute' radio show hosts filling in for Solomon who 'says' he's on a recruiting trip.
Recruiting trips are planned weeks in advance, it seems like subs for the radio show would have been mentioned long before this last-minute announcement.
As Shakespeare said "Something is rotten in Denmark" !
(ps; and before all you naysayers accuse me of making all this up, go to the Village Green and ask the owner, Milo, he'll confirm ALL of this ! Or you can ask any of the Bona personnel that attend regularly, they'll confirm it too, if they haven't been placed under a gag order again)
