Brett Jolly, once rumored Bona recruit, has verballed to ST. LOUIS according to Alex Kline. We got our main man: TYSON. We will see how this matchup develops thru the 4 years! I like Tyson's chances of getting the upper matchup hand!

AN -8/10 for 18 points, 2-2 from the three point line, four rebounds. Inexplicably played five minutes total in the second half. All points scored in the first half. One of his misses was a chippie lay-up, could have had 20.

Alex Kline reported Obinna Oleka committed to Texas, weren't we on his short list at one point? There was a great amount written about him on our board a couple of years ago. He made a visit, and I remember reading that when he was out with some of the team that night.....kids were yelling Obie, Obie, Obie. I believe that the staff wanted him. Obviously there must have been a grade issue because he ended up going the JC route.

I know this is a little off-topic, but my question does not merit a separate thread. The Pitts Post-Gazette the other day ran a preview of the Duquesne Dukes. One of their projected starters is Tra'Vaughan White, listed as a transfer from Independence C.C., where he averaged 25.9ppg. - Didn't we recruit him out of high school? He should get plenty of mins for the Dukes, who return only 3 players from last year - they had a lot of defections and just about turned over the roster completely. Let's hope they do not get to know one another until after we visit Palumbo on Jan 25, or maybe even after they visit the R. C. on Feb25. It could be a real long year for the Dukes. The preview describes coach Jim Ferry as installing a team that will utilize a "high-speed transition game that relies on strong rebounding, outlet passes and big men who can move" - sound familiar??? Their trouble is the 2 "big-men" they have are both 6'8", which really isn't that big anymore, and their other F is 6'4", and both guards are under 6'. If they are really looking to rely on rebounding and outlet passes, rebounding is going to be a challenge with no real height.

He made a visit to campus and we all thought he was going to come to Bona's. Don't know exactly what happened, but he signed a LOI with Sam Houston State....but never attended. Then he ended up at Independence Community College. My logical assumption was that he did not qualify and that we never offered him because of that. Do you know that while Travaughn was at Independence another player who had aspirations of playing for the Bonnies was his teammate. Can you name him? Jamal Goodwin!!!!!

back on topic, does anyone have any updates on how the 3 signees are doing in their senior seasons? I am really interested in the 6'10" kid (forget their names already(!)) who supposedly has a 40" vertical - I'd love to hear any in-person scouting reports b/c a kid that big who is able to get off the floor like that ought to be pretty dominant in high school, but as I recall he wasn't that highly rated, which has me worried b/c physically, he should be way ahead of most H S competition. So any info would be appreciated.
