faffy444.....Davis is a Clev native who played at DIV II Lakeland # 18 in nation.
He was selected Div II All American, as well as 1st Team All Region and Player of the Year.
A 6’3 SG who played 23 mpg, 20.5 ppg, on 50% FGs, 403 TREYS, 70% FTs, 4.2 rebs, 2.1 assists, 1.3 A/TO ratio. Averaged 21.5ppg in the National Tourney in Illi.
How does one of the top players in the nation Div II JUCO translate to success in the A10 at SG ?

i believe he started out at northern illinois. so he has some D1 experience already. his path is similar to both eric mosley, and marcus posley. D1 then juco, then back to D1.

max & faffy....I like your repsonses which infer Davis could be a fine contibutor. I agree
Mosley played Div I Austin Peay & then transferred to Div II where he had 23.8 ppg on 40% TREYS. Davis scored a couple of points less & shot the trey ball just a tad better. But Mosley was NOT an All Amercian like Mike Davis.

He is a solid big and that is what we need. However this can be a tough get because he is from Troy and he most likely played for City Rocks and GW has the connection.

Was clearly the most improved player on Siena this year. Held his own against Ndoye when Siena beat us this year. Scored 13 points and had 3 blocks. He would be a nice get for us. On another note, I see that Shaka retained Rob Lanier on his Texas staff. Good for Rob.

bub....Agree with your assessment.
According to coach Patsos, Javion wants a change of scenery. He selected Siena because it was only 10 mins from his house.
Comparing his soph year stats to Youssou’s
JAVION: 27 mpb, 9.3 ppg, on .546 shooting, 4.8 rebs, Turned it Over every 20 mins YOUSSOU: 21.4 mpg, 6.9 ppg, on .517 shooting, 4.9 rebs, Turned it Over every 10.3 mins
Javion is much better on the offensive glass than Youssou and turns it over far less. Remarkable on the offensive glass where more than half his rebounds come. Potential to be a better scorer than YN. Shot blocking & FTs YN is better. In fact, better than most BIGS in that regard.
Javion would be a real nice addition. Conf most improved player.
