bjif..out here, everything is Chicago centric...the public league coaches exert an inordinate amount of pressure on the aau coaches, media and colleges whom come to town to recruit...it can get very shady..witness the recruitment of d rose and Anthony davis..the psl coaches want a say in who the U of I hires as the head guy and his staff...it is total BS. there are 11 D1 schools in the state and none made the tournament this past season..so the HS coaches hold the upper hand. to get back to pittman...look at Wichita's fred van vleet who is posley's ex teammate...no one wanted him...leaves the state and becomes an AA. Posley could start for DePaul and u of I right now. van vleet is light years ahead of any guard at the U of I, yet was an after thought as was posley..

All the more reason to remain cautiously optimistic that Alexander will choose to stay close to home? Every kid is different. Being close to home was reportedly a priority but he keeps talking with other schools and picking up offers. The pessimist in me thinks he would have signed by now and each passing day is bad for us but without knowing, its just speculation. Common sense tells me he would have signed with us by now if he really wanted to, right? Unfortunately I agree. Every day that goes by where he doesn't sign I get a little less confident of landing him.

Many positions to fill. I had thought at least one announcement would have been made by now. I hope we've got some good ones coming. Surprise us in a good way, Coach.

SEE www.verbalcommits.com/schools/st-bonaventure. It ain't over until the fat lady sings. Most of our apparent prime spring targets with offers have not yet signed with anyone. It seems like our spring signings are revealed at the last minute and include some surprises. We really need those plus at least couple of our prime targets and it could still be a very good year.

but abe - when does it ever look good this time of the years for us? We are ALWAYS fretting big-time when we do not get the early signees we are looking for - but this year we do have 2 good ones in the fold - much needed front-court help that at a minimum should provide short term depth if not long term stars - so we are ahead of the "usual" pace of these things.

Maybe this is why Coach SCHMIDT was in Georgia along with Texas Tech's Tubby Smith and an assistant from RHODE ISLAND to see 2015s SHAWNTREZ DAVIS and JOHN CARLOS REYES.

Its good that Kyle & Joe Alexander's decision to eliminate Bona is finally made public. It was a long time coming & comes as no surprise.
The Alexander family is diligent in the pursuit of what they feel is best for Kyle. Time will tell if Bona would not have been the best match for an inexperienced but physically gifted athlete. Expectatations of frosh playing time to develop his game may not be realized where ever he lands.
I wish him the best in what could be a special college career.

But why haven't they committed anywhere yet? It could be a million reasons... I am just questioning what is going on.... We had 4 players in the last two years that were not a10 players.... maybe not even d1.... ... you can't keep doing that.

My question was not aimed at your response, just wondering out loud.
