scores.espn.go.com/ncf/recap?gameId=400547840I cant say that they are big 12 material in every sport, but seems to me their performance on the gridiron speaks for itself..seems to me they are at worst a middle of the pack MAC program and can routinely beat teams like iowa state, Kansas, nwestern, Indiana, etc--I also think the plan there includes riding the wave of fracking $$...look at what has gone on at penn state with fracking $$...sabres and bills...enviro arguements aside...NY state is missing the boat on this 1--the southern tier is still waiting for the crooks, I mean politicians to extend rte 219...progress, progress..aint no stinking progress !

NDSU did beat Kansas St. last year, and has beat a FBS school the past 5 years. I believe Minnesota twice, Colorado St., Kansas St. and Iowa St.

tomgleason - . . .- ok I respect your opinion, but stop with the personal attacks, no one has the time for such trivialities.! Correction, no one but Firstdev has time for such trivialities. Every one of his posts contain personal attacks. They also contain copious amounts of ignorance and wrongful assumptions. If anyone hasn't caught on yet, his motis operandi is personal, attack, personal, attack, personal attack, sprinkle in some wrong facts and silly assumptions, and then when called out for it (or if someone disagrees with your opinion), he asks why he is the subject of a personal attack and that this forum should be open to all views without being attacked. Circular and inferior logic, but at least you are consistent . . .

Sneakers - Did it ever occur to you that just possibly there are different opinions out there regarding how Sr. Margaret runs SBU? Did you ever take the time to speak with a faculty member or someone from the maintenance staff, or a recent graduate? Try it, it will give you a whole new experience, trust me. Have a great day. Hard questions are never inappropriate.

Yet, at the same time, do you think it could be possible that other representatives of those same, and other constituencies, are supportive of the administration??? I'm just saying ...!

It doesn't necessarily follow though that a faculty member, a maintenance person or a recent grad has all the information that may be needed to make difficult decisions that may be necessary to keep SBU afloat in financially challenging times. Critics are ubiquitous, problem solvers much less so.

According to NDST message board, our guy will be in Fargo Monday and Tuesday for an interview.
Also, I have a recent graduate who I communicate with quite frequently, and she has always had positive things to say about our president. Similarly, she has never referred to Hopkins Hall as Fort Duquesne.

I think its very short sighted to see anyone who leaves SBU as someone who was failed by the administration in terms of retention. We've had many exits from the athletics dept & administration that have been great moves for the individual, and no hard feelings from the university. (See George Mason, Florida Gulf Coast).
I think SW has created a lasting environment of athletic excellence that will endure beyond his tenure, whether that ends in 2015 or in 2025, and demonstrates a positive hire by the University. Thinking that every position needs to be tenured beyond some arbitrary passage of time is nonsense.
In your opinion, firstdev, the university has done a great job at retaining the current president, since she's been here for so long. Any issues with that?
