We were down 11 with 2:46 to go when Colter made 1 of 2 from the line, Posley then hit a 3 to make it 89-81....then we out scored them 9 to 1. They stopped shooting the 3 near the end and lost their best offensive weapon.

The Bonnies and Dukes are mirror images when they tangle on the court. No wonder there have been so many heartstoppers through the years. It is a great rivalry, even long before the A-10 was born.

Anybody back home get the OHS score tonight at Dunkirk? Knew Coach A was going for the big 5-0-0!

Interesting strategy at end of game up 3 we did not foul and allowed a 3pt shot to be taken - we lost on that strategy vs Kentucky & D Prince,,, we win tonight

The one time I can't go and a W for the ages, Oh well, if I'd have been there I'd probably be across the street from Palumbo right now in Mercy Hosp. after another stroke!
Please - someone at GoBonnies post a highlight reel - all it has to be is the last 3 of regulation and all 5 of the OT - no editing needed.
Another request - if this game is archived somewhere and anyone here locates it, please post a link here or in a separate thread. I think a bunch here will be watching again over the summer and again next fall to get psyched for 15-16!

Can't even lie- I had a whole post written for a loss by late in the 2nd half. Trying to save time so I could see the wife...Well, I had to delete all of it gladly. We will have something on the game tomorrow....Wow. What a win. Color me stunned. www.thebonablog.com We are a fickle group of fans. I too was frustrated and questioning the team, but they kicked my wavering support's arse with this win. How did the coaches find Mr. Posely? Amazing!

I was unable to see the game other than the overtime portion. The team looked great! The first five pages of this post topic are hysterical. I wasn't watching what must have been a frustrating first 30 minutes. But the whining, finger pointing and lack of faith (or even hope) is pretty sad to read. I hope some of you feel like taking back some of the harsh criticism of these guys who came through for us at the end. Go Bonnie's!! I think the team grew a lot tonight! When was the last time we scored 100?

One of the best ones was my senior year at Bona's, when we beat Duquesne 97-95 at the Buffalo Aud. Willie Somerset, for the Dukes had something like 46 points......he was a Chaz Williams size player. That man could not miss.... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Willie_Somerset

Interesting strategy at end of game up 3 we did not foul and allowed a 3pt shot to be taken - we lost on that strategy vs Kentucky & D Prince,,, we win tonight Yeah. I wondered about that. Why now foul and let them shoot 2 instead of them shooting a 3? Can anyone explain that to me? I am sure there is a logic I am missing. Thanks.

Interesting strategy at end of game up 3 we did not foul and allowed a 3pt shot to be taken - we lost on that strategy vs Kentucky & D Prince,,, we win tonight I was looking for a foul on the inbound, too. Seemed like the smart move, especially considering how well the Dukes shoot the 3 and how horrific they shoot from the line. Surprising decision. But when you win, I guess, you look smart. Helluva game.

I believe it was the year they lost to us on Davenport's 3 at the buzzed in the RC. Edit: Er, the shot was at the buzzer. It was the crowd that was buzzed.

fjs, my folks were at that game at the Aud in '64. Willie Somerset was brilliant. An Aud single game record that stood for decades. He was magnificent.
The following year -- and I attended this one -- Bona prevailed in another Aud thriller, 67-65. The "old" Aud and those Bona/Canisius twinbills on Saturday nights were special.

Had to take the dog for a walk after that one! still can't wrap my mind around it ... pure looney tunes. Posley and Adams were Batman & Robin tonight. Batman got the game to OT and Robin finished it off in the extra frame.
some ridiculous numbers in the box score. Posley drops 36. Youssou notches 20 and 15 (1 point 2 boards in the 1st half). Jalen 14 ASSISTS 0 TURNOVERS. Is he really a freshman? floor general supreme.

I wish I had seen only the OT part, too. I'd probably be with you on this. But our guys were getting blown out of the gym by a pretty bad team. A helluva comeback was needed. And giving up 97 points is not gonna work out well most nights. This is the kinda team where we better stayed buckled up. Anything and everything is possible.

looked at the boxscore - odd that each team "won" a half 51-39, so 10-7 OT "win" takes it all - 'Batch"only 3-12 for 8 w/ 5R, 2A, but what a 3 out of the corner.
Where'd that Powell kid come from? - he almost beat us off their bench w/ 13 and 8.
But Posley's 3 from what, 28,30? rivals Davenport's 3 at the RC for "clutch-3-against-Duquesne-of-the-decade" - which wins? Does it matter?
