Agree on Hofstra. Would like to see us renew the Iona series but we have a lot of MAAC schools already. Replace Loyola with Iona and it would be better. Would have liked to see one more big school on there but Syracuse, Vermont, UB, Canisius and Hofstra will be good for the SOS number. Overall cant complain too much about this. Really? Yes

Binghamton University: 6-26 (American East) Syracuse: 18-13 (ACC) On probation Loyola (Md.): 11-19 (Patriot) Canisius: 18-15 (MAAC) Hofstra: 20-14 (CAA) Buffalo: 23-10 (MAC) - No more Hurley... this team won't be much next year... NCAA TOURNAMENT BIRTH Ohio: 10-20 (MAC) Vermont: 20 - 14 (American East) South Carolina St: 11-22 (MEAC) Siena: 11 - 20 (MAAC) Niagra: 8-22 (MAAC) - ONLY ONE TEAM MADE IT TO THE TOURNAMENT - 5 out of the 11 teams had winning records - Besides Syracuse (probation) all of the other teams are mid major or below. Its another 225 - 275 weakest Out of Conference Schedule.

While these teams might not be as sexy as the "power five" schools, they are still good teams.
-Hofstra will probably be picked to win the CAA -Siena returns a few key players from a team that had a ton of injuries last season..They will probably be solid. -Canisius was picked to be a top 90 team. -Ohio U is usually very solid, but might struggle this year. -Vermont returns a lot of players and should be good once again this year. -Loyola returns a ton of players from a team that struggled last season. -UB will probably be pretty bad. -Niagara will probably struggle. -SC State will be probably be bad. -Syracuse will almost certainly be a top 100 team and most likely top 75. -Binghamton was bad last year, but also one of the youngest teams in the country. They might surprise some people this year.
To me, that's not a bad schedule. Three weak teams...Two of which are rivalry games and one buy. The rest are pretty solid teams. Not great, but not as bad as people think.
I'll throw out the first prediction. 7-4 OOC. Losses @ Syracuse, @canisius, @siena, Hofstra.
I want to say 8-3, but I will not pick us over Canisius at the KAC until we win there.

So here is a rundown of all the teams, what they were ranked in Kenpom last year, and the number of starters and other contributors (played more than 20% of the total minutes in the season)
Binghamton 324 Return Everyone Syracuse 59 Return 4 starters/ 1 other contributor Loyola(Md) 310 Return starting 5/ 1 other contributor Canisius 146 Return 2 starters/ 2 other contributors Hofstra 125 Return 3 starters/ 3 other contributors Buffalo 60 Return 2 starters/ 2 other contributors Ohio 235 Return 1 starter/ 3 other contributors Vermont 109 Return 4 starters/ 3 other contributors SC St. 334 Return 4 starters/ 3 other contributors Siena 267 Return 2 starters/ 3 other contributors Niagara 285 Return 2 starters/ 0 other contributors
Binghamton has to be better Syracuse will be middle of ACC Loyola has to be better Canisius I really have no idea Hofstra I think will be top 100 UB I am not really sure at this point Ohio could suck Vermont should be top 100 SC State has to be better Siena is going to be okay Niagara is probably going to really suck
I was hoping for a little bit harder of a schedule but some of the teams that were pretty bad last year look to be young and should be improve a decent amount this year. I feel like Niagara should be the only team ranked greater than 300. I guess we will see how the non-conf schedule works out this year.

No preseason tournament and no top 25 or even top 40 team on this schedule. This schedule is the weakest in the conference.. They really need to grow a pair and start playing bigger teams.....

Its good to play competitive MAC or CAA schools, but you need to have two or if you are lucky three bigger conference games. The biggest game we have is Syracuse and they are on probation. They will be a shell of themselves. It sort of seems like the program is too scared to play bigger schools.... I mean look at this schedule.... geez its the weakest in the confrence

Yep, that will fix everything. Then we enter A10 play with a 3-8 record and the season is lost. Great idea

Arkansas Pine Bluff plays all the big schools because they will schedule them. Why is that? Because they know they will paste APB. With us, we are good enough to pull an upset and they wont play us.

You assume that if we add two tough games to the schedule than we will only win 3 total out of conference games.. so basically you are saying we stink.. geez you have no faith at all.

UVM has a real good chance of going dancing. Hofstra has potential.

Good, I'm glad Abe is back. I'd rather read anything than more discussion of RC seating arrangements.
