Ah yes the Business Building - built out of the inventory of design from the East German Peoples Republic - I almost forgot........and how many additional business students enrolled because of this structure.....was it hundreds? scores? dozens? None? Oh that's right I did forget - frosh enrollment numbers are down substantially, right? Oversold magic bullet maybe? Business and science are the only growing majors. It's journalism and liberal arts majors where the big drop offs happened. Thank God someone had the foresight to build the new business school building or we would be in far more dire straights.

TK waited over six weeks to address student concerns about the pre-emption of student seating section with premium seats. Six weeks after the students arrived on campus. That is pathetic and shows a deep desire to avoid communication with a key constituency. Steve Watson was just an outstanding AD, and a great Bona fan, whose family lived and breathed the Brown and White. They are really the first family of Bonas, bar none. The snide comments made by several posters are just typical of the cut throat corporate mind set of money uber alles....... Throw the truly loyal Bona backers overboard for some corporate flunkie ready, willing and able to due the bidding of moneyed elite. Just disgraceful. We will rue the day that the BOT let SW get away from our community. If there is a student boycott (and I am sure there will not be since the students were even given free pizza and the offer of free, I repeat free T shirts in the future - Wow!)- folks like TK and Sneakers will be fully responsible for the disastrous outcome. Remember that two years ago the students did in fact boycott a home game in retaliation for the intimidation tactics exhibited by the security troopers in the RC. Time will tell.

sneakers...Thanks for the info on the growing majors & more importantly for your generous contributions to the Business School building.
I'm optimistic about the potential of the planned nursing program at Bona.
Last week at the St Catharine's College Fair I spoke with the St Francis (Bklyn)rep. They initiated a nursing program last year & the interest exceeded their expectations. They had to create a 57 student wait list as they had not allocated staff to match the first year interest.
Seton Hall (10K undergrad) rep told me that it is a big major there. With Olean General Hospital in the backyard staff should be easily acquired. Such a major would benefit OGH as well as bolster enrollment #s.

Humm........so despite a fairly steep decline in frosh enrollment numbers from 2014-15 to 2015-16 (Class of 2019) there was a massive increase in business and science majors? Really?
Please provide the numbers? Scores? Dozens? A few? None? Or more baseless corporate propaganda for the monolith to greed in the new quad?
Ah yes, I can see the next step from the corporate elite - St. Bonaventure College of World Banking - other majors get lost! Who in their right mind would major in fields like American History or Education or English or Languages when you can major in accounting! Thats right - World Com, Adelphia, Enron, State Street Bank, Mortgage Backed Investment Instruments, Goldman - Sachs - oh I forgot the accountants took a pass and a pay out on those! Right?
But apparently American History majors were the ones who nearly pancaked the financial system of the United States in 2008. English Majors sold fraudulent investment grade mortgage instruments. Language Majors took corporate plea deals and were fined billions of dollars for wrongdoing. Education Majors ripped off investors. Right?

It's getting to the point where I am disappointed if I sign on and don't see an update in this thread. I'm glad I ordered the large popcorn with the free refills.

Everytime I read a firstdev post I cringe.
Anyone known if there is a block user feature on here? I need to stop reading his nonsense.

That did the trick. His ramblings are bad enough but when he doesn't answer simple questions and just keeps on his conspiracy rants it really detracts from any worthwhile discussions. I have no problem with people disagreeing with me. I can have my opinions changed with worthwhile discussions and real information. It is always possible that my opinions are formed without having all the information and I recognize that. I welcome differing positions and feel that it is great to have a 'marketplace of ideas' especially when you're talking about an educational institution but honestly, if firstdev was the mouthpiece for the school, I could see why people would not be enrolling...

Excellent point, Pinnum. He failed to answer my simple question inquiring about the date of the game that the students boycotted a couple of years ago. I was going to look up the box score, to see if this purported boycott affected the game's outcome.
Go Bona's!

Everytime I read a firstdev post I cringe. Anyone known if there is a block user feature on here? I need to stop reading his nonsense. There is a block feature, and I have applied it to a few members that seem to be related in their rhetorical skills and unbelievable consistency in continuing to put forth already refuted opinions. I have also left unblocked at least one similar poster that at least appears to have a genuine interest in occasional positive contributions. I can now elect to read posts from these personas as I choose. When I do choose to read them, it is usually after seeing others respond so I already have a general sense (or an exact understanding because of the post being quoted) of what the post will say, and I can then give it the level of interest it deserves.

I think TK was caught by his own ambition. While it hurt him in the short term it is a good thing in the long term. It is absurd to even mention his removal. I mean, seriously?! I'll take TK's ambition over firstdev's status quo/backward-looking thinking any day! I also fear what enrollment would be like if administration was a parrot for firstdev ...
