SHAKUR is from Patterson NJ. Tragically his brother was shot & killed when he was in HS. He looks skyward to his brother after every score. Huthinson is ranked #2 in the nation & extremely well coached. HC Eck has a 518-94 career record. They play Seward County at 7:30 local time tonight. 8:30 If you want to watch Shakur in action here is the game played 5 days ago. They beat Dodge City 92-66. Shakur had 17 pts on 8 of 9 shooting, 11 boards & 5 steals. www.youtube.com/watch?v=iIee_DqZYqc

Don't know if Shakur ever went to St Bonaventure Church in Paterson but I do know that he blesses himself as he positions for the jump ball & raises his finger to the sky in tribute of his deceased brother. Adam Zagoria tweeted that Bona & Seton Hall will be watching SHAKUR play Sward Park tonight at 7:30. If interested here is the link to the video stream. www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sq7_uKKAR34 Hutchinson Game Quiet game for him. 7 pts on few shots taken & 11 boards. Illi Head Coach Groce watched him play Jan 4th. He had 27 pts & 12 rebs. Iowa State watched him a few days later. Verbal Commits has Niagara as having offered. His impressive stats (posted by me the other day) have been elevating as the season progresses. www.zagsblog.com/2017/01/10/recruiting-roundup-shakur-juiston-montez-mathis/

The tweet says the kid told him, so it seems Mr. Cannon-Flores is under the impression they have offered. It could be that St. Bonaventure will offer him when they watch him play on Thursday. It always throws me off when a kid includes a school that has not offered in their "lists". I see it a lot with Kentucky and Duke. Dominick Welch included Dayton, who has not offered. In his case, he was hoping they would offer when he visited campus, which ultimately did not happen. Perhaps St. Bonaventure will offer Cannon-Flores. We'll see. Nathan you mentioned Dominick Welch, who has garnered much interest on this board because he's extremely talented and he's a local kid. In fact , you have him highly rated nationally as a shooting guard but show just 3 confirmed offers, namely Bona, Hofstra and UB. What , if anything are you hearing about this kid and are we actively recruiting him? If I remember he was scheduled for an official visit to Bona back in the fall but it was cancelled. Thanks. Sorry for the late response. He actually held more than three offers. If you click "Show Other Offers" beneath Dayton, it'll show that two other schools also offered (Canisius and Iona). The three offers and the one Interest Only that are listed are schools on his final list. ESPN actually dropped his star rating from 4 stars to 3 stars. It says he's the 33 position rank but I'm trying to get that fixed. I have not heard anything about his recruitment since he cancelled his visit. I'm going to reach out to some people to see if he's is still being recruited by those schools.

nathanvc....Thanks for your invaluable input.
Jeromy Rodriquez and Shakur Juiston played last night. Here are their numbers in their games.
Jeromy played 33 mins, 5 pts on 1-9, 5 rebs, 1 assist, 4 TOs
Shakur played 31 mins, 7 pts on 3-6 shooting, 11 rebs, 2 blocks, 9 assists, 1 TO
Shakur decided to distribute rather than shoot last night. I think that Shakur has an excellent shot on All American List.

Thanks wgt.
Patterson looks like an NFL tight end running downcout, and I mean that in a good way. Looks like a stud inside.

Chicago & Nebraska assistants watched TREYVION KIRK go for a game high 26 pts in Bollingbrook game yesterday. wgt - are we talking Chicago Bulls? Chicago St.? UIC? If its the latter two, I don't believe we need to be concerned about them. Chicago St. will probably be closed by next hoops season and UIC, although having a decent year, typically finds themselves in the basement of the Horizon. Nebraska on the other hand...brand new hoops arena, B1G...yeah, that's trouble. Kid seems like a baller.

We're also not listed with him on VerbalCommits.

Our signed JUCO big NDENE GUEYE 6’10” at Kilgore after 18 games. 15 ppg, 64% FGs, 67% FTs, 9 rebs, just 2.2 fouls a game.
In his last two games he has averaged 26 ppg & 11 boards. Has the ability to get lots of assists game after game.

Is he the type to bang down low with A10 bigs or is he more of a thin, athletic 6'10? just curious. If he's the bigger type maybe he could play the 5 with Ayeni at the 4 next season.
