Why would heavy recruitment at PG indicate anything about Nelson? The most natural PG distribution on a team is two years apart. Nelson by himself as a senior with only a frosh PG for backup? Sounds irresponsibly risky Because, at this point, we have 1 ship available and continue to recruit bigs - IMO our bigger need. If we are going to add a big and a PG, we need a ship to open up.

I agree orangehaer, this is a natural year to pick up the next PG to backup Kaputo in his senior season and take over after he graduates. Makes sense. Schmidt is clearly looking out for this Board, remembering the mood around here that summer a couple years ago before Jay when it looked Ike we'd have no real PG going into a season. He doesn't want to put us through that again. Thanks Coach!

This really not recruiting news, just a case of idle hands being the work of the devil.
Being tired of people lambasting coaches, players and any other convenient target, I was nosing around Juno recruiting , I don t have access so I was just reading articles on Juno players. There was an ice piece on Jerome Rodriguez, a soph at a judo who we had seen and apparently liked and hoped to bring to campus after his season is done. A 6'7" rebounder extraordinaire.
The other article I read was about a soph named Topeka arikawe from pianola jc in Texas I believe. The piece said he had signed with Troy out of his, but did not qualify. The article went on to say that he has worked hard in the classroom and is earning a3.4. His offensive game on tines to grow, but that his real prowess was defense a very strong, very athletic big, 6'9". Isaid just what the Bonnie's are looking for. He has a number of offers, but they looked to be from mid majors and I thought why I tapped away on line.
Go bonnies not us. So maybe it a crazy idea, but I m guessing our coaches look at this board, but given some of the comments I sometimes wonder why they would. This kid prepped and went to his in ga, so maybe iris might know of this kid.
Sorry if you thought this was going to more. It s cold and snowing in Minnesota, I could have gone to our first home MLS game, but instead

I doubt if the coaches look at this board. Actually, I would be shocked.

I hope Teyvion likes snow............
The buzz: Kirk was released in late December from Drake after signing with the Bulldogs in November.
College coaches are intrigued with the big strides Kirk has made over the past 12 months and like the length and defensive potential this point guard possesses. Plus, he brings outstanding academics and high character to the table.
Where he can play: While there are some questions concerning his perimeter shooting that has put a bit of a cap on his level of recruitment, the chance for a mid-major program to land a player like Kirk and his intangibles this late in the recruiting game would be a boon.
The recruitment: There are a handful of offers and a whole lot of interest. Kirk says Miami-Ohio, Bethune-Cookman, UW-Milwaukee, Southern Illinois and Kent State have all offered with a slew of others inquiring. That list includes Brown, Middle Tennessee State, Boston College, Loyola, St. Bonaventure, Cal-Poly, Missouri State, Boise State, UNLV and Georgia Tech.

Teyvion Kirk had signed with Drake but when Coach Ray left he asked for a release. Long, skinny, with hops, #4 PG in Illi. Was all conference as a junior. Junior year stats 12.5 ppg, 4.7 As. 1.4 steals. Dukes had interest. Must be smart because Brown was involved. Stats near the end of his senior year: 17.4 ppg, 4.2 Assists, 4.7 rebs verbalcommits.com/players/teyvion-kirk

Similar story for Jay during his senior year, signs with Jacksonville, coach leaves...opens up his recruiting, and we have an all-A10 player. Can lightning strike again....I hope.

I see Kirk retweeted someone who said "best decision of my life was attending bonas" I would love us to start getting more chicago area players. Marcus Posley certainly worked out

Couldn't agree more and man would it make sense to make a couple game swing through Chicago market to highlight the school and have recruits be able to see the Brown & White isn't afraid to travel to your home market....Loyola (Watson AD), Northwestern, De Paul (new arena), Valpo...
