Dayton has a very large alum base here...and several chicago hoopers on their roster perhaps it's an inflated stereotype but I always see Chicago hoopers as guys that are tough as nails. That's always a quality we can use on our team. Pollard lives up to that stereotype at Dayton

Obie was just offered by Georgia State according to his tweet & confirmed by VERBAL COMMITS. Our offer to him, as repoted by Mt Zion is not confirmed on VC. He is listed 6'9". I think he is more likely 6'8" and a combo wing/F with a shot from deep. twitter.com/otoppin1 www.verbalcommits.com/players/obadiah-toppin UGA From Georgia Hoops Blog before their offer • Obadiah Toppin: He is attending Mt. Zion Prep in Baltimore, Maryland. He is originally from Ossining, New York, which is in Westchester County. Toppin was a Shooting Guard and then became a Small Forward. He’s now projected as a Combo Forward. His height is said to be 6’9″ by Mt. Zion Prep on social media, but according to the latest roster released by the school, he’s 6’8″. Toppin handles the ball like a “wing” and can shoot from long range. In his last year at Ossining High School, he was a 37% three point shooter. He has offers from Maryland – Eastern Shore, Quinnipiac, Jacksonville State and Siena. Virginia Tech has expressed interest in him as well.

Just watched the NYS class AA championship. Mt. Vernon topped Section V's Fairport. We have been recruiting Greg Calixte a 6'8" big from Mt. Vernon. I came away unimpressed by him. He got some points but mostly late as his team already had a good lead. During one huddle mid way in the 4th, the coach even told the team not to pass to him as he would "be hacked." I guess that means he isn't a great FT shooter. Too be fair, MV had plenty of horses so maybe they just didn't need him today. But he was far from dominate against a smaller team and for large stretches when the game was in doubt he was on the bench. He'll probably be a nice player in college but looks more suited to the MAAC or AE than the A10

He's #33. Fairport longer than I expected. #44 guarding Calixte looked bigger. www.lohud.com/videos/sports/high-school/2017/03/19/video-mount-vernon-wins-record-11th-state-title/99386622/Had a nice alley oop conversion. Then a down low attempt had the ball stripped by a guard. At games end he & the 2 other seniors celebrate. The 3 were there 4 years. Coach Cimmino is a real good one. He could be Mayor of Mt Vernon but who would want to run such a troubled city. Coach C does a tremendous job with his kids. Greg seemed to save his best games for rival New Rochelle. Had 19 & 13 & 9 & 10. Most impressive was against a real good CTK team where he had 14 & 9.

More like 6'7 maybe 6'8"but a good 50 pounds lighter than Calixte. The rest of Fairport's guys are 6'4 or less. I'm not slamming the kid, I just wasn't impressed with this one game.

With WILL WADE leaving VCU, does his recruiting class honor their commitments to VCU? Do some follow him to LSU? What about MARCUS SANTOS-SILVA, BONA staff was interested in him, what if he reopens his recruitment? Will BONA staff still be interested?

JEROMY RODRIQUEZ and NWFS beat # 8 Jones CC (29-1) 91-79 today. They go against #1 San Jacinto St Thurs at noon.
NWFS is now 28-3 on the season.
Jeromy had 16 pts & 16 rebs in the win. He's a 67% FT shooter on the season but went 2-8 from the line & misfired on numerous inside opportunities.
He handles the ball well & is a good passer. He inbounded the ball most times & always against pressure.
He got am early foul but finished with just 3. He could give Josh & Amadi a clinic on how to set legal screens.
More schools will be checking him out on Thurs. NYC kid Coach DeMeo has these kids playing well.
