So you’re pro-sexual harassment of minors? You know, I used to think that I wouldn’t find anything posted here by firstdev to be unbelievable. But, I was wrong. I also can’t believe that he was educated at Bona’s. Before you make serious charges of sexual harassment against the Bona student body you better have the proof, and solid proof too. So far not one single piece of evidence. This charge at this point amounts to a disgraceful slander against our fans.

So you’re pro-sexual harassment of minors? There is absolutely no evidence that there was any sexual harassment of a teenage girl at the game. Much ado about nothing. Move on. Oh, so you were there and saw everything? You're an embarrassment

So the president is an idiot who would publicly release a significant charge without evidence? firstdev has you all playing his game now. The president never charged anyone with or without evidence. He merely stated that, among many other emails, he had received one from someone who said his girlfriend had been harasses multiple times. He does not comment on his personal opinion on the truth of the accusation. He may believe it is true, he may not, but he does not say. I think he used it primarily to buttress the picture he was trying to paint of the fact that numerous fans had complained about what they felt to be an uncomfortable environment. I suggest that those of us here relearn how to use the block function judiciously.

Here is the SBU policy regarding sexual harassment. Dr. DePerro is simply following this policy as he must.
St. Bonaventure University promotes respect for the dignity and integrity of each person. Members of the university community, guests and visitors have the right to an environment free from all forms of gender and sex-based discrimination, examples of which can include acts of sexual violence, sexual harassment, domestic violence, dating violence and stalking.
All members of the university community are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that does not infringe upon the rights of others.
St. Bonaventure University takes reports of gender-based and sexual misconduct very seriously and treats each report with the utmost care and urgency. When an allegation of misconduct is brought to an appropriate administrator’s attention, and a responding party is found to have violated this policy, serious sanctions will be applied to reasonably ensure that such actions are never repeated.
This policy has been developed to reaffirm these principles, to provide a mechanism for determining when this policy has been violated, and to provide recourse for those individuals whose rights have been violated.

“That passion is on display most prominently at the Reilly Center when a Bonnies rival or highly ranked team visits.”
Not taking a side on the heated is UB a rival debate....Smart move.

In addition to the advice on using the blocking feature, I would also add to res' commentary on what the President actually said the general advice to resist the "breaking news" temptation of running with a quick reaction to posted news, and instead, read it carefully to determine what it really says or doesn't say. A little fact checking, when possible, goes a long ways too. Not doing all that is starting to take its toll on discourse and opinion.

Some posters on this board (acolytes of Sister Margaret Hilbert I might add) are very quick to allege a violation of the university's sexual harassment policy and are alleging a sexual harassment incident occurred without one single shred of evidence, proof, video or testimony. They talk among themselves and then gin up a preposterous theory that our fans, who Coach Schmidt called terrific after the last home, are somehow out of control. Its the same false tactic used by the far left to censor speech in all forms in our society. Generate a baseless allegation and then smear the university, and its student body. There is no basis in fact to these charges. Get a grip. I might add that two members of our order are always in the student section of the stands during the home games preaching for moderation, yet no statement has been released by anyone in the university alleging such a specific sexual harassment incident occurred. More fake news generated by fake Bonahil alums. That being said our President has every right to request better decoram at the games. Of that there is no doubt. That is a reasonable request.

Remarkable what threads and topics get repeated attention in a season when we don’t have at-large hypotheticals and banter to Fill up the content.

And, he continues to double down on his position that sexual harassment allegations should not be investigated.
