They must have needed someone to run the DVD when they watch game films.
What is he going to do when they show an "R" rated movie on the team bus on road trips - nothing above "PG" was allowed on the Bona bus trips.
And he's going to have to tolerate that profanity at practices - Mon Dieu ! - how will he ever cope ?

If you read the entire Dayton press release, again the Sol spin continues. Bonaventure was an "impossible situation" , he returned the program to "respectability", he is a "great recruiter", etc. He then goes on to talk about how Dayton embodies the University experience he holds so high. This guy never really got it as a head coach. Somewhere along the line you need to show results on the court. That is respectability. His recruiting turned into a revolving door. Coach Gregory better put a sock in his mouth when Sol starts in with his "life lessons" dribble. I wish him well in his new endeavor. We finally can "march forward".

Sol will look good on any staff. He can serve as any squad's moral compass. If his school has a good story to sell, he can sell it. But, if he has to make critical decisions, plot game strategy, make in game adjustments while actually coaching a team....fugggetaboutit. He and his cronies will always fall back on the, "it was an impossible situation", "he is a superior leader of young men" and "it is/was impossible to recruit kids to olean" rhetoric, i believe the fact that assistant coaches and players that he recruited...his so called young men that he hand picked left in droves speaks volumes about his ability to lead while in the trenches...that said, i look forward to our new coach leading us out of the wilderness and back to more than respectability !

If I were AD Ron Zwierlein or SID Steve Mest, I would be furious and in the UD’s athletic administration’s face for issuing a press release calling SBU a “scandal-ridden” basketball program and Flyer’s coach Brian Gregory referring to SBU as an “impossible situation.” I don’t deny the past sins of JVBK and Wick but to refer to a fellow conference member in this light, shows an absolute lack of class on the part of UD.

If you were AD Ron Zwierlein, you would probably be shooting 18 as a carefree retired AD. Steve Watson is now our AD, but I agree with you 100%. That press release is BUSCH LEAGUE. Sol was a nice guy, but he sure does have a lot of excuses for his inadequacies as a coach. Dayton is slowly but surely rising up on my list as high disliked teams in the A-10.

From the press release I question the accuracy of the following, "he brought the Bonnies' scandal-ridden program back to an improved level of competitiveness and respectability."
Here are the returning players VBK left Solomon:
Marques Green Ahmad Smith Patrick Lottin Maurice Young Saulius Dumbliauskas Cortez Sutton
Here are the returning players Solomon is leaving Schmidt: Michael Lee Tyler Relph Z Tyler Benson

The A-10 office should also be giving this joker a talking to. It hurts the whole league to denigrate one of its programs like that.
